I found a great deal for an ASUS ROG-STRIX-RX580-O8G-GAMINGOC Edition GDDR5. When i looked up the build compatibility for my system, I didn't see it listed. Guessing it could be troublesome to get up and running?
hi-
Thanks! I actually tried to overclock my processor a few weeks ago but failed after following what must have been incorrect instructions.
Gonna start with a new video card and go from there.
Thank you again for the insight and help!
Thanks! I definitely think I'll start with a new GFX card and go from there.
There's also someone locally selling a used hackintosh-compatible motherboard and Intel I7 6700 processor for $150.
Oh wow. That's great. Thank you for letting me know and sharing!
I was considering an 8GB gfx card, but if you think 4GB would be adequate, sounds like this one's the way to go.
Hi-

I've tried using iTunes & VLC.
I've also connected speakers to all 3 outputs (microphone, line out, and speaker) and cycled through the line out & internal speaker options.
Nothing works.
I'm verifying sound using the speakers plugged into the green port in the back of my board. Also, I've plugged in headphones into both the rear (motherboard) green plug and front headphone output.
I also confirmed the speakers are working by plugging them into a separate device (and heard...
I'm totally confused now.
I removed all sound using the instructions from :

I only used Codec Commander - which i thought was one of the install methods to install audio. Did i do miss something or do something wrong?
I tried again...
Appreciate the reply.
I removed both sound installs and reinstalled using Codec Commander only.
