Hi everyone! I just wanted to post my findings upon fiddling with this card in both my desktop (Asrock Z390 Phantom Gaming) and my laptop (Dell Inspiron 5370).
On both systems I can get this card to work wonderfully well and even enable Airdrop etc.
HOWEVER
Both devices (and actually my...
I can confirm that this totally works!
I also found a new and improved solution for audio: AppleALC.kext together with Lilu.kext
https://github.com/vit9696/AppleALC
Lastly, I started off with Rehabman's config.plist for HD3000 on a 7-series laptop and tweaked it to my taste...
I didn't notice any difference between my original BIOS being 1504 and the update to 2202.
However, I used the rename tool on windows to rename the update file on a freshly formatted USB drive

I followed this guide, but basically what went wrong is that the uefi bios kept showing "windows boot manager" as the only option for the SSD.
I finally solved it using this thread:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/add-windows-10-boot-efi-after-installed-os-x-clover-uefi-simple.182919/page-3...
Thanks for this guide! I followed this one and the one from Stork to install Sierra on the gene. However, I can't get clover to work on the EFI partition of my M.2 boot disk.
Here's what I noticed:
When I format the disk, install macOS first and windows 10 later, pressing F8 while booting...
Thanks for keeping this thread going! My Acer s3 motherboard died a while ago and I managed to find a cheap replacement motherboard. Unfortunately it doesn't have the i5 and the intel HD 4000 combo but instead it has a core i3 and an intel HD 3000 on a 7 series chipset :|. I'm currently...
Finally finished :D
I managed to clean up the look of the front panel by adding a vinyl sticker around the less pretty parts. I also added some mesh over the hole for the PSU, it's looking much cleaner now.
I painted the opening side panel black from the inside, so the cable mess wouldn't be...
Hey! I don't own this pc nor any of this hardware anymore, so I couldn't tell you. But I would say that it should be possible, albeit without the asmedia usb controller. Try to turn off as many devices in your bios as possible to get to the installer and see how that fares :)
Thanks
Here's what I'm staring at right now :)
I closed the case and experimented a little with where to put the UV leds to get the best result. This is what it looks like now:
Unfortunately, the panel is not as clear as I'd have liked. The pictures you saw here are without...
Small remark on the side: Isopropanol actually does work! It did however take 2 days before the paint started to peel off. It's less messy than the nail polish remover where the paint became half liquid and left marks behind...
Hoefer.de is a German chemistry web shop and they sell 6 liters for...
Following the Candy Apple mod, I soaked the side panel in Isopropanol in the hopes of removing the paint and achieving a clear panel as a "window".
I let it soak for about 4 hours before I tried removing the paint by wetsanding it with 400grid. It didn't work.
My second attempt was with...
Since everything seemed to be going so well, something obviously had to go wrong somewhere
I had just finished filling up the loop with distilled water (to remove factory dust etc before putting in the UV liquid) and powered the system on when I noticed that my motherboard keeps hanging on the...
It's finally coming together!
Routing the cables took so much time, but I am pleased with how it turned out, given the limited space to work with!
Since the pump draws power from a molex connector, I needed at least one molex connector to the power supply. Unfortunately, it doesn't pass...
It saddens me that there is still no support, but as long as I'm sponsored, I thought upgrading a maximum while I still have the chance was a better idea than opening the loop next year and adding a new GPU ;-). That's why I also maxed out to an i7 and 32GB of RAM. I do plan on gaming regularly...
