[GUIDE] Remove extra Clover BIOS boot entries & prevent further problems

Hi Twaan. You don't specify which ones you'd like to delete, but I would think you want to get rid of the legacy ones and only use the EFIs. This you can do by just unticking 'Legacy' entries in Clover under the GUI category and saving. Obviously mount your OS X EFI and point Clover to your...

[GUIDE] Remove extra Clover BIOS boot entries & prevent further problems

Thanks for the quick response. Unfortunately, booting up Windows is what has me a bit stumped. I currently can't boot into Windows at all, because it simply isn't a boot option in BIOS. I had everything working fine before I did the OPs method (except for Clover constantly creating new boot...

[GUIDE] Remove extra Clover BIOS boot entries & prevent further problems

OK, so I did the steps (OP) above on my Sierra / Win 10 dual boot. Have done this previously El Capitan and it was fine, but this time I think I accidentally deleted the Windows drive entry. Any way to restore it or do I have to start installing both OSs from scratch? The windows drive and...

[Guide] El Capitan on the Skylake H170N-WIFI

Does anybody else have what seems to be slow USB 3.0 transfers and mouse freezing/jumping whenever there is I/O activity such as programs loading or file transfers? Have you been able to fix it? I'm using a Logitech Performance MX and system as per my sig (El Capitan 10.11.5). This is my last...

    OS X 10.11.5 Update

Successfully updated via App Store, upon reboot the old Nvidia drivers were disabled and I was prompted to update by the Nvidia assistant. A quick driver update and reboot later, everything appears to work just fine. This project has come a long way since the early Skylake hacks. Thanks guys!

    Clover bootloader screen resolution

Thanks Discreetlogic, This solved it for me. I think it is actually using my native 4096x2160 resolution. Great stuff!

[Guide] El Capitan on the Skylake H170N-WIFI

Thanks Yoji. Will try the "Fix Shutdown" option. Edit: this solved it (duh!) I've changed the resolution under GUI and in the config.plist itself but it doesn't do anything. Also tried installing the CsmVideoDxe driver to no avail. Edit: Success! Did the suggestions by Discreetlogic in this...

[Guide] El Capitan on the Skylake H170N-WIFI

Installed fresh using the updated guide. Works great now except for some minor things. The kernel panics and endless hit or miss reboots I was experiencing on 10.11.3 seem to have been a carry-over from importing docs via Migration Assistant from 10.11.2, which worked poorly to begin with. Life...

[Guide] El Capitan on the Skylake H170N-WIFI

Thanks Ammulder, Attaching pics of panic and of a verbose boot (right before spontaneous re-boot). Will try the suggestion of removing AppleIGB as I'm using IntelMausiEtherenet now anyway, which works great. No drops and works after sleep etc. Had real problems with Ethernet before you...

[Guide] El Capitan on the Skylake H170N-WIFI

I was hoping you guys could share some insight to get my rig booting more reliably (specs in my sig). Updated to 10.11.3 a few days ago and couldn't get the GFX 980 to work. Having tried "everything", I reinstalled afresh using onboard gfx, installed the latest release nvidia drivers and put in...

[Guide] El Capitan on the Skylake H170N-WIFI

Hey The Italian Job, I'm not sure I'm understanding your issue with your Nvidia GPU correctly, but on my install I finally got my GTX 980 (or the drivers, really) working by doing a clean install according to ammulder's guide USING THE MOTHERBOARD GRAPHICS DURING THE INSTALL/SETUP. Then when...

[Guide] El Capitan on the Skylake H170N-WIFI

I just installed the IntelMausiEthernet.kext using Easykext Utility and plugged in my Ethernet in the plug next to the audio outlets. Just brought the computer out of sleep and Ethernet works! Still early days, so I may encounter bugs, but so far so good.

[Guide] El Capitan on the Skylake H170N-WIFI

Here's how those things work on my build, which was surprisingly painless: 1) Have Windows 10 installed on a separate drive. Have set my OS X / Clover drive to be the boot drive and just choose from there. Issue: it seems a UEFI boot drive is added with each boot (have like 30 now in my BIOS...

[Guide] El Capitan on the Skylake H170N-WIFI

Thanks Ammulder, I actually managed to find the hidden directory as you were posting your reply. Made the changes and did all the steps under 14. Still same issue with the black screen, but can always boot back in if i go nv_disable=1. I see this issue is rather common. Maybe it got messed up...

[Guide] El Capitan on the Skylake H170N-WIFI

Fantastic guide! I had the same MoBo and a 6700K in my new build, and was waiting patiently for it to become Hackintoshable and here is suddenly a step-by-step guide on how to do it! Installed without a hitch, but I haven't yet got my GeForce 980 up and running yet: I don't seem to have the...
