could it be a problem with nvram? i see it is associated with loading nvidia drivers, my clover config has nvram emulation disabled - change 1 in your build says it is running native nvram with these mobos.. just trying to think that could explain the irregularity - driver fails to load once in...

hmm so i popped the 1080ti back in and disabled InjectNvidiaGeneric (not sure why it was on) and it has helped all 3 things but not solved: - occasional black screen on boot seems to happen much less (so far 3 times in about 18 reboots- a couple times it went dark then came back as if adjusting...

Do you mean that might be the problem with my original config- the occasional black screen? or do you mean that might be the problem with the igpu ^and wouldnt this be fixed by just changing the nvda_drv=1 to a 0 in the boot args (same result - instant crash on boot)

no worries the recovery usb is extremely slow but i got in and got it done. attempting to boot in a min here. just curious in my default settings is it just InjectNvidia that should be selected? not nvidia single/generic/noEFI? edit - -when booting off the usb (using clover to apply the...

No, its an LG 38GL950. A beast of a screen. The black screen issue didnt happen on the first few boots when I got the monitor so I thought all was fine on the hackintosh side. Too late to return it now (~6months). Aside from this one issue its been great. like i said not a single problem on...

ok retracting my previous post. Black screen still occuring after boot even though somehow i went through about 10 reboots without issue yesterday, the black screen is back in full force today.... The display shows for a second then goes black about 50% of the time. Does not happen on lower...

Hi Chef - tried switching the cable no luck there, but I think i have my solution finally. For anyone looking to use high refresh rate supported monitors with hackintosh, I suggest installing switchrezx and confirming that your monitor by default is set to 60hz and at its native resolution. It...

So although i sold my old monitors i do have a projector - the issue happens on HDMI and DP when going to the monitor, but the HDMI works fine when working with the lower resolution of 1024x768 on the projector. rebooted several times to be sure. Another thing worth pointing out is when the...

hmm i am using display port but my previous monitors didn't have this issue, one was connected to DP port via DP to HDMI cable, the other was just regular HDMI since my video card has 3xDP and 1xHDMI out. will try swapping to an HDMI and see what happens just in case. Ive found some other forum...

Hi again chef; after some more attempts I have found that the black screen on boot is still a fairly frequent issue. wondering if you can confirm for me that this is most likely still kext problem. Sometimes i get the boot logo, others not. The issue started when i upgraded to an ultrawide...

    - The problem was occasional black screen on boot with 1080 TI (50% of the time)- So at the suggestion of another forum post, I tried installing Nvidia pixel clock patch. It made the black screen on boot issue happen every time. Then, after trying again with a different version from recovery...

    144Hz on 2560X1440 resolution

Alright @Obsyd. This pixel clock patcher is extremely poorly done the readme actually says: "### Do not unpatch after updating!!! When updating the backup is not removed. unpatching will result in the old backup to be made active this means you will loose your current CoreDisplay driver and you...
