Re: Guide: GA-P67A-UD3-B3 with ATI 5870 – 10.6.8 and Lion
I have the same settings. I was able to send a wake signal from my router which would power up my computer with no screen but then revert back to sleep again after a few seconds. Sending a second wake signal before it dozed off again...
What type of setup are you using to wake up? Bluetooth keyboard or mouse? If so, what type of BT module do you have? I'd suggest looking at NotShy's Sleep Guide. There may be a solution there.
I did use the Q-flash from the BIOS. The exe extracts the firmware. You'll need to put the extracted file on to a thumb drive formatted in FAT32/16. Flashing the BIOS works just fine on a Hackintosh system. I'd suggest running multibeast to install the new FF DSDT into your extras folder BEFORE...
Re: Guide: GA-P67A-UD3-B3 with ATI 5870 – 10.6.8 and Lion
Hey there,
How were you able to get WOL in Lion? I've been trying for two days and I can't seem to get it to work like it did in my SL install. I have all my energy options checked. My BIOS is set for WOL, at least I think it is. I had...
Hey everyone,
I have a clean install of Lion up and running right now. But for some reason I have two options in my boot selection for "Mac OS X Base System". I am pretty sure I know how I got them there; I installed the "Lion Installer" to my install partition by accident. Here is the kicker...
I was able to fix it with the SL AppleRTC.kext. I can wake with my magic trackpad just fine and it doesn't do a CMOS reset anymore. I didn't run the Terminal command fix.
From what I understand, booting into a 32-bit kernel does affect how the OS used the cores and memory (only 4GB of RAM can be utilized usually) BUT Applications that are 64-bit running on the 32-bit kernel are just fine. Those 64-bit apps can utilize all the RAM that is available to them beyond...
I upgraded from FE to FF recently. Seems to be worth it. It didn't hurt anything at least. You'll need access to windows to extract the new firmware from the .exe you'll download from Gigabytes website. You can also google "flashing gigabyte BIOS" and that will help you find the PDF instructions...
I had issues with this also. I figured it out though.
1. Get into Snow Leopard (Cause you made a working backup right? Sure you did cause who's awesome? You're awesome!).
2. Open multi beast and select the System Utilities options cause you'll have to re-enter your settings again anyway. Click...
Mine takes about 4 seconds with one tap or click before my screen pops on. Are you getting back to your desktop screen or does your monitor not turn on at all?
The terminal command that has been going around hasn't helped for me either. I found a solution in another forum that suggested using the AppleRTC.kext from a SL install. I used mine from 10.6.8 and it has solved my sleep problems in my CustoMac build. Sleep, wake, and restarts without CMOS...
I've read that the above Terminal command works for some and not for others. I ran across another forum that mentioned that you could use the AppleRTC kext from a Snow Leopard install (instead of the terminal command), specifically from 10.6.7. I used one from 10.6.8 and it seems to have solved...
Re: [SUCCESS] GA-Z68MX-UD2H-B3, i5-2500k, Radeon HD 6850, SSD
EDIT: I may have found the solution to my problem. At least part of it. The "Press any key to enter startup options" still doesn't work. though.

I couldn't tell you if it were true or not but it would make sense to have it being a 3.3v if it were from a laptop computer. The Mac Pro Desktops use the same type of BT board but as far as voltages go I couldn't tell you one way or the other on those either. That is why I figured it would be...
