Hi all,
I've been working through this guide the last day or so to get my USB working properly on my desktop (Z97a in my bio). I think I have reached a point where I have a basic understanding of what is going on, but I have reached a snag.
I have tried the guide using both FakePCIID_XHCIMux...
It isn't KPing, as I can still wake from sleep and start doing things normally. It doesn't happen enough that I have spent the time to look into it. Next time it happens I will take a look at Activity Monitor and see what is spiking the CPU.
Mine has been completely fine so far. I'm on Mojave. I do have some sleep issues sometimes where the CPU will go crazy and heat the laptop up a ton sometimes, but I don't think that is because of the SSD. I would recommend it from my experience.
Hey @vettz500, have you gotten Night Shift working on your hack? It's not the end of the world to not have it, but I figured I would spend some time tonight to see if I could get it working. I tried a few kexts I found online but no luck. Curious if you have looked into it at all...
Just went through your latest update, 2/2 on boots so far! Looks good to me, thanks for the update.
And I'm definitely cool with 99% working, like you said, it's to be expected with a Hackintosh. Having 20% working was definitely getting annoying after a few days though, so I'm super excited to...
Yeah I've grabbed the newest version from Github. Thanks though!
I'll give it a shot when I get a chance! Thanks again for all the work you have put into this.
Thanks vettz! I was having the same issue as well recently, I'll give the new kext a go and see if it fixes it for me as well. I was going to ping you and let you know you aren't the only one that has had freezes but I've been caught up with classes starting. Glad to see you and @protech were...
@vettz500 I've had quite the interesting revelation. I added AppleBacklightFixup.kext back and for whatever reason that fixed both my audio and my black screen issues (I think I'm 4/4 so far). I'm not sure why, because I am using the newest version of WEG and that supposedly replaced all of the...
1/1 so far with that SSDT-PNLF... So far so good. I'll run with that one for now then. Thanks! Audio is still being a pain, but I'll just keep messing with it until it comes back. I tried the suggestion you posted a few times and still no dice. For some reason it just decides to not work...
@vettz500 Hate to keep bothering you, but after a boot of having everything working great, I decided to reboot just to make sure everything was still good. Somehow on that reboot, the black screen bug is back and my audio is no longer detected... I tried reinstalling applealc and the...
So I got to the step of backing up my stock BIOS. I have the file backed up, and I'm confused by the next step:
"Find Chipset / System Agent (SA) configuration and change that it user"...
I found Chipset/SA, I'm confused as to what to change.
Yeah it was KPing on boot with it consistently, and worked when I removed it, but then was KPing on shutdown and sleep. Now I added it back and everything is working fine again lol. Not sure what that was about. I might try the bios mod just to hopefully get a little more stability though.
Sweet, thanks for the writeup. Would this possibly cause kernel panics on shutdown too? I'm getting panics like the one attached below. I've found online that it might be related to power management, so I was planning on rebuilding my DSDT and SSDT from the guide and see if that does anything. I...
Hey @vettz500, I somehow got stuck with kernel panics on every boot. Not really sure how that happened. I tried the black screen fix with the files you posted, which worked a few times, and then I kept getting KPs. I’ve attached the verbose log. I know it’s not the most to go off of, but any...
