    RAID 5 in a hackintosh?

Not sure, I haven’t tried to boot off of the RAID array. I use it only for large file storage prior to backup to my freenas box in garage via time machine backup.

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I have been using another method that I outline in some detail here and which uses using RehabMan's instructions and driver. Not all has been perfect as I have no sleep, and from time to time I have to boot into windows and then back into macOS to reconnect my Apple Magic Mouse. I realize that...

On that note, should Slate Digital VRS-8 be added to the list of working Thunderbolt Audio Interfaces? A few relevant posts on this subject are: Post 1 Post 2

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

After seeing all the new activity around Thunderbolt, I was tempted to be lazy and ask whether all hell broke loose after some Clover or a BIOS update. Glad I spent some time reading several hundred pages. It took several days but well worth the time and is a good educational process. Unless...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Are there any downsides to updating to F9b? Especially as it relates to Thunderbolt behavior? I notice a lot of activity around Thunderbolt firmware mods and such but haven't fully figured out what it's all about.

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

It was the memory driver. After a brief panic, I remembered that I still had my USB install, so I hit F 12 and booted off of the USB install UEFI partition and into an earlier r4920 version of Clover. Once I got into clover, I just selected my normal macOS Mojave disk and booted without any...

Designare Z390 + Intel CNVi 9560 BLUETOOTH partial success

Yes it’s definitely flaky. I find that periodically because of a bad shut down or a power loss, that I have to boot into windows, activate my Apple magic mouse there, reboot to macOS And again re-add the mouse via the Bluetooth settings and then it works for a good while. One caveat however is...

Designare Z390 + Intel CNVi 9560 BLUETOOTH partial success

You should have Windows installed not as a luxury but as another method to update your chipset, bios and other firmware. You may get your system up and running now without Windows, but at some point you might want to update your macOS, and your choices may be - buy new hardware, or upgrade...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

@CaseySJ Looks like this didn't work. Followed the process to a T. Any ideas? I did delete the drivers64UEFI folder as instructed. My previous post has the screenshot which includes contents of both folders.

Thanks for the clarification. One thing about Hackintoshes is that even minute details mater, so while your guide is informative, these are the type of questions that arise regardless. You may want to add that caveat to your post so as to prevent further questions like mine. :) And THANK YOU!

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I just installed Clover_r5117.pkg and going further through your instructions, I notice that the (drivers/UEFI) directory already has those same drivers without the "-64" designation. Should those files be replaced with the ones in drivers64UEFI folder?

Thanks. I'm doing this to finally implement Native NVRAM, something that's been largely absent from Z390 platform for a while, but am hesitating because my system has been rock solid without it.

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I unlocked my MSR 0xE2 a while back. I'm still on F6 and haven't updated to F9b yet. Does the process for unlocking MSR 0xE2 have to be repeated once the Firmware is updated to F9b? Also, are there benefits to updating to F9b?
