Dell Inspiron 5378 - A few little things...

It happened again, and the reboot on wake issue is occurring at about the same time as the graphics lag does when the framebuffer kext patches are disabled. It seems that I get a reboot on wake whenever I modify the framebuffer either by removing or modifying the connectors using kext patches...

Dell Inspiron 5378 - A few little things...

I have modified the kext patch that fixes the 0105 framebuffer for HDMI (No VRAM hack) and enabled the 01030203 kext patch, but I am still getting reboots on wake. I have attached my most recent files below. It works as expected using FN+F11 and FN+F12, as the GUI brightness is displayed while...

Dell Inspiron 5378 - A few little things...

I have completed a fresh install (format SSD + install Sierra). I am still getting the reboot on wake issue using the kext patches that modify the framebuffer, so I have again disabled it in my config.plist until this is figured out. Below is my latest "Problem Reporting" files.

Sorry about taking so long to respond to this. I was trying a bunch of other solutions (reinstall with Skylake spoof, update to High Sierra) and never got it working as well as it did before. I had reverted to the original configuration that led me to here to begin with. I have tried replacing...

Dell Inspiron 5378 - A few little things...

I had installed both FakePCIID and FakePCIID_Intel_HD_Graphics into /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other, and still I get the same artifacting and tearing on graphics using the Skylake spoof. I feel like I am missing something else, but I have read your guides a few times to (hopefully) make sure I didn't...

I have copied the config.plist that spoofs Skylake ig-platform-id. I still get terrible graphics performance. I have attached my "Problem Reporting" files below.

    [Guide] Dell Inspiron 13 5378 (2-in-1) - MacOS 10.12.6

Use another USB drive and format it Fat32 with one folder named EFI. Place EFI_Shell into that folder and boot from that USB.

    [Guide] Dell Inspiron 13 5378 (2-in-1) - MacOS 10.12.6

You did not set DVMT using EFI_Shell. You may need to add this kext patch to your config.plist.

So it seems that whenever I patch the KBL framebuffer to remove the @2 port, it causes the reboot on wake. This does not occur when I remove the patches, but I get screen lag. I will try using Skylake on Sierra, but I am not sure if I am not configuring it correctly. Is there a guide to do the...

    [Guide] Dell Inspiron 13 5378 (2-in-1) - MacOS 10.12.6

Did you disable secure boot in the bios? Did you format the USB stick using the method described in the OP? It sounds like you have not made the USB key correctly. Please follow this guide and try again, you do not need to worry about MultiBeast or UniBeast part.

Dell Inspiron 5378 - A few little things...

So after doing those edits, I ran into the lag-on-wake issue. I was able to successfully create some kext patches for 0x59160000, and will be testing to see if I get any reboots on wake. Kext Patches for 0x59160000 Comment: 0x59160000, disable 0204 Name...

I downloaded the version of iasl from the BitBucket repo, and will be staying away from the 'bleeding edge' version. I noticed that this issue only comes up when I use the 0105 kext patch, so I did a little digging in my config.plist and noticed that I was injecting the HD630 platform-id...

Dell Inspiron 5378 - A few little things...

I have fiddled around with this for a bit and have a couple of results. When spoofing Skylake using the HD620_spoof template, graphics were terrible and almost like the DVMT was not set properly. I tried using the 19/9MB Framebuffer kext edit, but nothing had gotten any better graphics wise...

As soon as I finish that post, I closed the lid and opened it after about 1 minute. It rebooted after I logged in, but console had registered all _PTS and _WAK events within about 1 second. It seems that the reboot happens after all the _PTS and _WAK events complete.
