    It worked for my ALC889 problems, I didn't have MB 6.2.2, but ticking ALC889+HDA enabler in MB 6.1.0 did it. Thanks a lot :)

    that's the thing, it is not even listed there. EDIT: used "system info" app first green line on the attachment: the dev ID is 0102... should I follow your tutorial or try to get it listed in the system report first? (second line: is that the HDMI audio output from my 560?)

    just noticed that my hdmi-out from the gtx560ti wasn't working with windows anymore (same issue with ML).. could it related to the UEFI bios? I updated to it before installing OS X. fortunately, I still can use the one from my integrated HD3000... with windows only, ML doesn't see the chip...

    Optical Out

    You have to control the volume on your AV receiver if you use the optical-out, keyboard or system volume only works with analog output. 5.1 signal comes from your source file (music/video) or it should be "converted" by your AV, have you tried to switch modes on it?
