I am looking for help because I can't figure out why Sierra won't install again after the boot option for OSX had disappeared all of a sudden. The system has been running Sierra and Yosemite before without an itch and was not modified.
System:
Gigabyte H97N-WIFI (LGA 1150)...
I was able to solve a very similar issue (able to move the cursor, system otherwise frozen though not just after waking) by installing running an app called "freeze fix". My conclusion is that this seems to be a problem with the graphics card. Hope it helps :)
I solved the booting issues by using the following boot flags <string>kext-dev-mode=1 npci=0x3000 darkwake=0 dart=0</string> and setting my system definition to iMac 14,2.

Hi, I solved the issue in my case. Maybe it is just a coincidence but after adding the following kernel flags the coloured noise disappeared!
<string>kext-dev-mode=1 npci=0x3000 darkwake=0</string>
I just added them in the org.chameleon.Boot.plist
Are you unable to move the cursor at this point? This seems to be exactly the same issue.
Unfortunately I experienced a few freezes by now just after booting successfully(without any flags). Usually when I open Safari.
