Apple Introduces New MacBook Air and Mac Mini

My config was half the prince of the Mac Mini and I have a dedicated GPU (GTX 1070). The Mini isn't viable compared to a Hackintosh, but the Air looks interesting, even though they raised the price... again.

What a great mod . This is still one of Apples best designed computers.

MINI PowerMac G5 HACKINTOSH (3D Printable)

Where did you print this or have polished the surface? It looks very smooth. Great build, I like it.

    My MacPro (2013) Hackintosh

@aarbot thanks :) When doing the USB port holes, and on that matter all ports, I arranged them loosely and not really proper. I should've been more cautious and maybe do even exact measurements of where the ports go. That way I could have known where to drill the holes on the outside and not do...

    My MacPro (2013) Hackintosh

@zhaiyong4118 The only suggestion I can give is, follow the general guide for installing High Sierra on this side. That is what I did. I used an MacBook Air, High Sierra Installer (10.13.4) and the newest version of UniBeast to create the USB Installer. I took a few photos off my BIOS and I will...

    My MacPro (2013) Hackintosh

@tabarus and everyone else interested. I did some light benchmarks, with Cinebench 15, with the trashcan on. The Hack is audible, but not annoyingly loud, during no load. On load it gets louder, for me personally it is not terrible, because it is way quieter than my MacMini under load. Sadly, I...

    My MacPro (2013) Hackintosh

@Veron thank you :) It did some testing and got some weird results. My method wasn't very scientific, I just copy a 1.73GB file from and to a USB thumb drive attached to a my Airport Extreme Base Station, which stands about one and a half meters away. I'm using the crappy antenna that came with...

    My MacPro (2013) Hackintosh

@tabarus when I introduced the fan meshes it became audible, before it was virtually silent. Now I have the problem, the hack becomes loud when put on the trash case, not because any parts get warmer or because the fans spin up, but because of reverberation effects. Which I need to minimise...

    My MacPro (2013) Hackintosh

@Dschijn sure I can, I haven't had the time yet to drill all the holes for the ports, just a few of them, but I hope I cant get it done this weekend. Edit: Hopefully temps won't increase too munch with the trash can on, after all I couldn't test that out.

    My MacPro (2013) Hackintosh

Thanks :). 1. I haven't had any heat issues yet. The L9i is recommended for up to 65 W, so that should be fine, but it gets loud under full load, not annoyingly loud, but noticeable. As far as I have tested it the 8700 doesn't throttle (rendering in Blender, calculations in Mathematica), but...

    My MacPro (2013) Hackintosh

Hi good people of tonymaxc86, I've been a lurker of this site for years, when I finally decided to do my own build. My MacPro Hackintosh - inspired by this forum Components CPU, Mainboard etc. GIGABYTE Z370N WIFI Intel® Core™ i7-8700 Noctua NH-L9i Corsair DIMM 32 GB DDR4-3000 Kit MSI...

What was your primary reason for building a hackintosh?

All I wanted was a Mac Mini with dedicated GPU, nothing fancy just more powerful than this Intel onboard stuff.
