For all who came here, tried and it didn't work for you, here's what I discovered: post in another thread
My (Gigabyte Z490 Aorus Pro AX) internal ports are not hooked directly to the controller but to the hub, dedicated for these two ports. Making the upstream port "Internal" doesn't help and...
It works for me (with NEC and with Apple). It's the second one (second from the left on your picture) that doesn't want to work with Apple, but works with NEC.
But before the OS is booted the order is always the same, right? Are both your MacOSes OpenCore? What about OC boot menu? It also...
I actually don't even know what to google. I have two monitors, NEC PA272 and Apple LED Display. The NEC is primary (center) and Apple is secondary (on the side). Both plugged into the DP outputs of the XFX RX 580 4GB (reflashed as Sapphire with the same config and timings). Apple uses DP to...
@CaseySJ You recommend a NativeMonitorBrightness tool in your build guide. I should report that it doesn't work correctly with Apple LED Display (the one that just like Thunderbolt, but only Displayport :-)).
As soon as you touch the slider it dims the display and there's no way to get the old...
@CaseySJ @RandC That ^^^ was the case. I crafted a USB cable with a normal USB-A plug on one side and 4-pin JST connector on another to attach to the YOUBO card. Plugged it into the rear I/O panel USB port, created a USB map with Hackintool, declared this port "internal" in the map and it all...
Sad fact is that I don't have slots available. Titan Ridge, 10GBe, RX580 and the only one suitable for the wifi card is the 1x slot next to the CPU. But I recall when I was just building the hack and had no RX580 yet, I put the wifi card into 16x slot and then moved to 4x (where Titan sits now)...
@RandC , did you get any luck with sleep/wake problem? I have Z490 Aorus Pro and use Yobo Wifi/BT card plugged into the internal USB 2.0 port. Same problem as yours - if I unplug the USB sleep/wake works beautifully, once I plug it back in, the hack sleeps and immediately wakes back.
PCIe is PCIe, it will work with any PCIe device generally speaking. But these broadcom-based cards also need USB for bluetooth and USB is missing in these M.2 M-key slots. If you look at the @KevinAgnes post at https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/broadcom-wifi-bluetooth-guide.242423/page-36...
Got it somewhat fixed, at least there's no panic anymore. There was something wrong with how I added SSDT generated by HackingDROM+MaciASL to the config.plist. I've readded it with OpenCoreConfigurator and now it doesn't panic on sleep, plus the TR card now shows as 40GBit x1, as opposed to...
Hi, after a long hiatus I've built my second hack, first was back in El Cap days. Built basically from info sifted from this thread, so thanks Casey and everybody else. Z490 Aorus Pro AX, i9-10850K, 64GB memory, XFX 580 4GB (flashed with Sapphire VBIOS, otherwise it panics on boot)...
