Hmmm, I've bought the LCD controller now so I think I'll have to get one that has a compatible screen. I think only the 21.5" Mid 2011 iMac does! Looking out for a cheap/free broken one now!

FYI: If looking to do this it looks like this controller can drive this 4k screen that is an almost exact fit.

By the way, did you consider replacing the LCD panel with a similarly sized 4k version and re-using the mounts from the existing one?

I’m hoping that the “thin” mini atx Mobo will allow me more freedom. Please keep me up to date. I’m going to have to wait a month for the lcd controller to arrive I think.
