Mountain Lion: Optimized AppleHDA for Realtek ALC8xx

So there is no chance to change digital output audio bit depth in any way? The reason I ask is that my multimedia system has a strange high-frequency noise when connected with optical cable. On other forum people said me to change audio bit depth output to 16 bit / 48000 kHz. Thank you

I don't understand why your Geekbench score is so high. I have almost the same hardware combination and only 10000 score. My build: Asus P8Z77-I Deluxe Core i5-3570K 8Gb 1600Mhz Samsung DDR3 RAM 180Gb Intel 330 Series SSD I've tried iMac and Mac Pro 3.1 profiles, same result.

    "Quiet Boot" not working

Try to remove brackets. <key>Quiet Boot</key> <string>Yes</string> And you could add timeout time: <key>Timeout</key> <string>3</string>

Strange. I've followed Going Bald's manual and everything works flawless. I do not use DSDT because I don't need sleep, with SSD system loads extremly fast.

Answering on own question about FakeSMC. After installing motherboard plugins, delete OemSMBIOS.kext at S/L/E/FakeSMC.kext/Contents/Plugins/OemSMBIOS.kext; then repair all permissions; then you could restart. If do not it will make KP.

Interim Realtek Ivy Bridge Lion AppleHDA

I think I messed the thread. I'm using ALC898 kext from MultiBeast 5.0.2 (I think it's latest version). Though the sound is not as clear as in Windows. Thanks for the link

Guys, is there any way to improve ALC898 sound quality? It sounds so good in Windows 7 and so muffed in OS X :(

Guys, have anybody tried to install FakeSMC and FakeSMC Plugins? Is it safe? I can't see my CPU temps, would it help? And I want to notice that integrated ALC898 sounds much worse in OS X then in Windows 7 :(
