You're running a different motherboard though. The problem seems to be with the Gigabyte X79. A motherboard bios update maybe a solution, I may try that soon.

That's the end of the road then. Technically speaking, this card is working with Mavericks on a Gigabyte x79 motherboard, it just requires vbios alterations and a solution to that little problem of never shutting down! Quite disappointed with the support on this forum.

Yeah, I tried the XFX roms with the modifications, doesn't work. The Asus seems the way to go. I'm using atiwinflash and VBE7 bios editor. Google: 'Mac Pro d700 rom' and you will see the download on a forum page. Then open the rom with VBE7.

I've been working on this with person you sent your cards to. Despite the benchmarks, the modified GPU bios is not working with FCPX. It may be different with your motherboard, but on the Gigabyte X79, it's no good. I got the same freezing/crashing in FCPX with this rom as I did with the XFX DD...

Glad you have it working. Unfortunately, the XFX 280x issues are a little more problematic. There may be some good news on this soon though, a certain someone (who's name can't be mentioned on here for some reason?) has sent me a new GPU rom which looks very promising. I'll keep you updated.

I can't think of anything obvious except maybe update your system definitions through multibeast as well as your boot loaders?

It may well be your GPU that's causing the problem. If you reach a dead end with other solutions, it maybe worth flashing your bios to the Windforce version.
