Another strange one here. The USB-C ports on my Z390 designare used to work fine, but I got a message about power consumption and I think OSX turned them off and now nothing. I tried restarts, but no succes. Do you recognise this? Any suggestions?
I'll definitely look into it. Does that mean I have to change my Bootloader to OpenCore? What is your opinion on that, I'm very happy with my setup at the moment, is there any added value to that vs Clover?
sorry for asking so many questions, I have put all my nerdiness / geekiness into video...
That's awesome man! It is attached. I'm getting pretty reasonable geek scores.
I use BIOS F6n, is it wise to flash it to F9?
Thanks again! Let me know if I can do something in return.

Hey Pastrychef,
I have a Clover build with a Z390 Designare and Radeon VII. I managed to get it working pretty good. However, this is my workhorse, and it needs to be as reliable and fast as possible. Is it possible to check my EFI folder to see if things are OK?
Second, how do I check if NVRAM...
Thanks guys. I guess a RX 5700 XT is an even better choice than the VII.
Is it safe to say that AMD cards might also work better or more stable in OSX from now on? It's kind of contradicting because AMD drivers (and cards) have always been kind of buggy from my own experience. Even the reviews...
Couldn't find the answer in the posts in this section, but there have to be more!
I have given up on Nvidia and future Mojave support and decided to move to AMD and sell the 1080Ti. After that I intend to upgrade from High Sierra to Mojave.
What would be a smart choice with a budget of 750-...
>> GREAT! And thanks for the fast reply.
That's odd. What firmware version is currently installed? F6? Is your memory certified for XMP 2.0? There should be no conflict between memory and either iGPU or dGPU. Memory should be installed in pairs (for the benefits of dual channel performance) and...
Crazy man. What a great post, it helped me tremendously building my new hack. Since I have a 1080ti that cannot be replaced yet I was forced to install High Sierra. Things are running OK, but:
- I was wondering if all of your kexts/ssdt would work for High Sierra? USB is not perfect yet.
- I...
Well,
I did a clean install of High Sierra on my hack and was very pleasantly surprised by the ease of the process.
Flawless! Sleep and wake works and everything looks very stable so far. Thanks again team tonymac!
Nonsense. I have been working with the Adobe Suite on my hack for years, and everything is running smooth. You do need a license so you can use the updates, but things work just great.
No trouble at all installing my 1080 ti. Flawless! Deleted the gpu sensor kext, very good advice.
Performance is just amazing, a big difference compared to the 980 ti. Cheers!
