    Skylake ASUS ThunderboltEX 3 Testing

I gave up for the time being and I am using Windows 10 on this build. I got close in that I could have everything working but I would have to reboot the system several times at startup to get it working. I'm waiting to see how others fare with this combination before I try again...

    Skylake ASUS ThunderboltEX 3 Testing

Last night the random booting issue reared it's ugly head again! This is annoying because otherwise I have a 100% working system when I finally get it to boot properly...

    UniBeast apfs.efi error

You must select GUID partition but it's only available if you select in the view options at the top left corner of the Disk Utility window, "Show Only Volumes". So simply select view - show all devices, then select the actual drive you're trying to reformat, then when trying to erase, you should...

    Skylake ASUS ThunderboltEX 3 Testing

I'm using an Apple Thunderbolt Display hooked up with the Apple Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter. I get a display picture even on the boots that don't recognize the ThunderboltEX3. Seems like it just passes the video signal even if Thunderbolt is working or not...

    Skylake ASUS ThunderboltEX 3 Testing

Did you update this yet? I ask because I have the latest firmware for the ThunderboltEX3 running 10.13.4 and have the same issue with booting. After I reboot a few times till the Thunderbolt is recognized everything works perfectly. Wondering if you got this resolved. I'm going to try that...

    Pro Tools HD and Hackintosh

Sounds like your'e having an IRQ conflict. 48 voices is what you would get with just the Core card and your signature says you have an Accell card as well. You should be getting 96 voices. You could try installing the cards one at a time to see if you can get the IRQ's sorted out...

    Mixing Engineer Computer Compatible?

You really should consider upgrading Pro Tools. Hi Sierra and Pro Tools 12.8.3 is the best performing and most stable I've seen in many years. Track freeze, Commit, and Bounce are worth the upgrade alone not to mention the extra plugins. With your hardware, you'll have a killer system.

I am currently gathering parts for a G5 Hack and I'm looking for pretty much the same requirements as you. I've purchased an ASUS Z370-A Prime motherboard and a ASUS ThunderboltEX 3 add in card. I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this combo for thunderbolt.
