The Dell OptiMac Big Sur/OpenCore Thread

I finally have a working EFI coming from 0.6.4, but now I'm on 0.6.6 o_O I have no idea why this is the case; I downloaded my config file with OC Gen X + OC builder and compared my old and new config with propertree, and I assumed that I would be getting 0.6.5.

The Dell OptiMac Big Sur/OpenCore Thread

I wish it was that easy. In my case, I've tried going from 064 to 065 and I keep getting a system failure (I forgot the name of the error, but I will try again in the next few days). I don't mind spending time on updating, but it's getting frustrating for me :) Of course, I'm now back and...

The Dell OptiMac Big Sur/OpenCore Thread

thanks for your reply! The reason why I’m asking is because the chance of making a mistake during updating OC is far less when following this approach. Casey’s approach would need 1 EFI expert (such as yourself) to update the website providing everyone else the updated config file you can...

The Dell OptiMac Big Sur/OpenCore Thread

@trs96 Is it possible for you to have a similar OpenCore upgrade method for this particular build, such as: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/success-gigabyte-designare-z390-thunderbolt-3-i7-9700k-amd-rx-580.267551/post-2215337 and using...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I decided to overclock my system and to make it as stable as possible with minimum setting changes. I feel I still have margin left to push it, but this is good enough for me. Let me just share my settings and results, perhaps you want to use it yourself. Fyi; the settings in my screenshots...

[FAILED] Radeon RX 6800 XT - Big Sur

Subscribed myself to this topic. I can't wait till the XR 6800 XT support is in Big Sur and Hackintosh, this is definitely on my wish list together with a Ultra-Wide 34 inch screen. Awesome job pioneering with this card @tleej , thanks for that! I hope when Big Sur supports this GPU, it also...

The Dell OptiMac Big Sur/OpenCore Thread

I actually did this, and the EFI I attached is the output of this :) But I don't seem to get it to work, so I'm sure there is something wrong in the EFI. I just don't seem to understand what's wrong.

@trs96 I can't seem to update my OpenCore version to the latest stable release (063). I'm now on OC 062. I get a black screen and need to reboot via my current (working) EFI which is on my USB stick to enter Big Sur again. Can you take a look at my EFI to see if other settings are required...

The On this build it’s been the most stable version of macOS so far, I really have nothing to complain. Everything works and it’s super stable. I now had to reboot due to the update, but before that it ran days straight without any panics or whatever.

Yes. I'm asking you to do a bit of research yourself, else you just need to buy a Mac instead of hackintoshing ;-) The steps are basically as follows. - Prepare OpenCore EFI using OC v0.6.3 (you can use the one @CaseySJ pre-made for us in this topic). - Prepare a USB with Big Sur and copy the...
