Everything is working great on my old Z68X Ivy Bridge system with OpenCore v0.6.0
Edit: Subsequent updates through 11.0.1 Release Candidate 2 (build 20B28) installed normally after changing Misc > Security > SecureBootModel to Disabled in my config.plist. Everything continues to work properly...
I was encountering similar issues when upgrading to High Sierra on my GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3.
The Clover config.plist posted by vulgo in the post here which uses the iMac 14.2 SMBIOS and includes a number of DSDT fixes cleared up the problem.

USB 3.0 ports started working properly for me under Sierra 10.10.2 with UEFI BIOS U1n after removing GenericUSBXHCI.kext

It looks like recent El Capitan updates have corrected whatever was going wrong with this mouse.
I have 10.11.4 installed and my Lenovo Laser MOBGBO is identified in the system profile as "Lenovo Laser Mouse" and it is working perfectly again.

I don't have an x220 with USB 3.0 so unfortunately I can't address that issue.

The Inateck KT4006 also works perfectly under OS X Yosemite 10.10.2. Recognized without configuration as a USB 3.0 Hi-Speed / SuperSpeed Bus with my Intel DG33FB motherboard.
Plenty of power for every external hard drive I've tried it with.
Apparently some other Inateck USB 3.0 PCIe cards...
