Pro Tools Editing with video - GPU needed ?

That's strange, try using prores LT if you want a smaller file size anyway, it looks pretty good and is the equivalent to dnx36

Pro Tools Editing with video - GPU needed ?

No problem :) If you do need to do the transcodes yourself here's a little quick tutorial. Download the Avid Codecs Here Download MPEG Streamclip Here Once you've loaded up your quicktime, choose 'file-->export to quicktime movie' then copy these settings: then from the options menu, choose...

Pro Tools Editing with video - GPU needed ?

I used to work in an edit facility and if we loaded an h.264 into avid via AMA and it would really slow down the application, this was on mac pros with Radeon 5770s. A quaddro may make things better but I don't know for sure as the last time I used a PC with one of those in for post was before...

Pro Tools Editing with video - GPU needed ?

TBH, your best bet is to receive the quicktime as a dnx36 (or whatever the equivalent is for NTSC) file or something. h.264 is really badly handled by the avid engine. Download mpeg streamclip and install the avid video codecs lite that comes in the pro tools dmg and you could transcode it...

Confirmed Audio Interfaces (Hobbyist/Pro-sumer/Pro) & Drivers - Mac OS X

True, the 002 is already not supported (still works fine though). I'd say there should be a couple more versions left for the 003 though. New interface wouldn't hurt, you'll be getting better preamps etc

Mavericks... worth the upgrade for musicians?

Mavericks is great so far for me. I upgraded as soon as it came out because my ML install never had working audio through my firewire interface on Logic 9. Mavericks solved that problem, and I haven't had any hiccups so far.

Confirmed Audio Interfaces (Hobbyist/Pro-sumer/Pro) & Drivers - Mac OS X

Just had a look on the duc and it looks like it's a problem with the version 11 driver rather than OS version. There's a guy using pro tools 8 on 10.8.3 who's getting this issue too. Maybe uninstall the driver and reinstall? It looks like it's an issue between the Avid Driver and Core Audio...

Z77x ud5h front audio not working

No worries, it's all pretty fresh in my mind! Maybe try borrowing his windows disk and hooking it up to your machine if you can, and vice versa with your OS X disk in his, just to rule out a software bug. Does the FP Audio for the R4 come as separate pins or one big block btw? To get my back...

Z77x ud5h front audio not working

Does it work in windows? Oh, I'm using F14 BIOS and everything works well, so you might as well update it, see if that gets it working in OS X

I'm guessing that you've plugged it in and that your back panel is working fine?

Post Your 3770k Overclock and Geekbench score

4.5GHz @ 1.27 vcore. I'm not really up for paying for the full version of geekbench, so I can only give you 32 bit results I'm afraid.
