    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I've looked at their documentation (by clicking the ? after i got this error), and from what I understand it uses this APFS replication procedure the first time, and then just clones the data volume every other time. I'm having problems with the first backup.

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I'm having some trouble getting a bootable backup for Big Sur working. I had one working fine with Catalina. Carbon Copy Cloner seems to report that the APFS replication procedure failed. One question I have is related to first attached screenshot; I am unfamiliar with this snapshot partition...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Hey there. I am currently trying to replace Clover with OpenCore by following this guide. It states: The linked guide doesn't seem to fully describe those steps, however. I have found another post (** Using HackinDROM App to Create New EFI **) ... am I supposed to use this? I'm a bit unsure of...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I now use a MIDI hub. So prophet 6 -> MIO midi hub via midi cable -> computer via USB. While I have had other freezes since, that one doesn't happen anymore. I also have an Arturia Keystep 37 connected via USB... I haven't had an issue with that, only the prophet 6.

Do you happen to have any midi devices connected via USB? I had a very weird issue with ableton freezing in the same way when I turned a knob to its max value. It only happened when I had my prophet 6 connected via USB.

<< Solved >> 10.15.5 Clover does not detect the installation volume.

Thanks for this. I had the exact same issue, and these steps worked for me as well.

So I'm now trying to install 10.15.5 and it seems like clover never gains an installation volume for me to select. There is just no change there, so the update never happens. Any ideas why this volume isn't being created/displayed? I've tried pressing F3 to reveal anything hidden, but that...

Ah, I did reboot, I was just thinking that touch would take a while. Looks like I'll wait and see if 15.5 works for me. Thanks for all the help. :)

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

touch -c "/Volumes/Samsung/System/Library/Extensions" seemed to run very quickly, I immediately had a new prompt. Was it supposed to take longer? Unfortunately I'm still stuck with the same problem. Looks like I may just wait for 10.15.5, or try a fresh installation on a different SSD if I get...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

So unchecked those boxes, checked if Catalina would still boot (it did), but I still have the same issue. Adding -f UseKernelCache=No didn't seem to change anything either... is it as odd as it appears to me that even with -f UseKernelCache=No, I still have issues with the kernel cache?

You linked to the guide to Enable Native NVRAM; I've actually already unlocked MSR 0xE2 via this micro-guide. The output of setup_var_3 0x5c1 via the grub> prompt is 0x00. My BIOS version is F6. I see that MSR 0xE2 unlocking procedure in the guide you linked to involves unchecking Kernel and...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I did this and while my system still boots without an issue, trying to update results in the same kernel cache problem...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I have not enabled native NVRAM. After reading the mini-guide, it sounds like this might be worth doing, especially if the updater can't write to nvram.plist. Although if that was the issue, would it result in an error loading the kernel cache, or would the update fail at a later point? KernelPM...

That doesn't seem to have made a difference unfortunately

First off, thanks for all the replies :) I removed the following: SMCBatteryManager, SMCLightSensor, FakePCIID, FakePCIID_Intel_GbX, and the old SmallTreeIntel kext After adding the new SmallTreeIntel kext I shut down, turned off the power supply for 10 seconds, checked that MSR 0xE2 was still...
