My solution was to return the Thunderbolt display and purchase a Cinema Display. Same display, speakers and camera but no thunderbolt.
Hmmm. MB problem sounds like possibility. I have tried 2 different adapter off of the headers and they both failed. I guess it is time to contact Gigabyte.

I have the i7-3770k with HD4000 and I was able to run iTunes 11 in 32 bit mode to play videos. Now with itunes 11.0.2 that no longer works. I cant play any itunes purchased videos in iTunes or quicktime.
It has been about a month now and I couldnt be happier. The Cinema display works perfectly with my Hack and under Windows as well. If you wan t an Apple display with built in speakers, mic, camera and usb hub, get the Cinema Display.
Now with iTunes 11.0.2 the 32-bit option is not working for me anymore. I cant view any iTunes purchased videos. I just get a black window and the movie does not play.
I picked up a Cinema Display today and am happy to report that everything is working perfectly. I will continue testing and see how things go. So far no panics. The issues all seemed to be related to the Thunderbolt display or thunderbolt in general.

Thanks for the info. I think I am done trying with a thunderbolt display. I have been using a TV with HDMI to test the last 2 days and it works great so far. I am going to buy a 27" Cinema display and see how that works. All else fails I will buy a regular pc monitor (Booooo!).
