Upgrade went fine, but the AppStore crashes my computer. Completely freezes it. Have to do hard reset to fix it. The crash happens EVERY TIME I open the AppStore. Any ideas?

What exactly did you change it to? I'm having the same issue.

Mine automatically updated overnight. Luckily, everything went fine. Installed webdrivers and everything seems to work fine. WHEW!

So, has ANYONE had any luck just upgrading from the app store? (Not a fresh install.) I'm running a Core i7 on an H97 motherboard with a GTX 950. El Cap runs flawlessly.

Also updated via the app store. No problems whatsoever. TRIM even stayed intact.

I used Unibeast, installed El Capitan to the hard drive, ran Multibeast and tried to boot from hard drive...got the kernel panic. BUT, if I BOOT the computer using the thumb drive, then select the hard drive to boot from, it boots into the OS and runs just fine. I'll give your idea a try.

Anyone else? I have no idea what to do, or where to start. It boots and runs perfect when I boot from USB. Sound, ethernet, display...all work fine.
