I don't have a 3.1 device with which to test, so I am not certain of my speeds either. USB-C connection works to my iPhone without issues though.
Would be interesting to know if I did get 3.1 Gen 2 speeds...
Also of note, this board does have a front USB 3.1 connector - I'll check and see if I have my front ports connected to that (might shed some light here).
I do not have that header in use. It must be the "second" header exposed by Hackintool.
Having utter faith in your knowledge, I didn't even bother to remove the back cover on the case (where my SSDs are located, should I have needed to boot back to Catalina), and no issues rebooting.
After Broom & Refresh, here is Hackintool output:
And in IORegsitryExplorer (after plugging in...
Here is the top portion:
Is it possible to just remove that portion from USBPorts.kext that relates to the PXSX controller(s) or is there "header" information before it which would make that a stupid thing to do?
Here is the kext plist:
It looks like I can just remove the PXSX part...
So Apple makes no controller distinction as part of the port identifier?
Hackintool sees it here, does Apple not see it the same way?
And I can see/manage the phone in Finder, and plugging in a USB 2 key into XHC HS01 is recognized as independent as well.
?: What are the consequences of leaving the PXSX controllers be? What would happen if I do decide to use the either of the ports under those controllers?
I know from previous mapping attempts that the ports are indeed visible to macOS (I plugged my iPhone into the usb-c port and it wanted to...
Ah, didn't think to use the broom as I thought "refresh" (the arrowed circle) would have done that... broom clicked and voila - only the ports that are in USBPorts.kext are listed. Good enough!
Thanks!!!
Given I'm sure I screwed up initially with the SSDT, I don't think I've got the knowledge necessary to do things that way. So back to Catalina...
After putting the OC bootloader on my Catalina disk (Clover would no longer boot that drive, I'm guessing NVRAM? 'sides, OC is better), here is my...
Hackintool generated this based on my Clover booted Catalina build. I have an SSDT-UIAC in place in the Clover build, and it certainly is possible I screwed that up, and if Hackintool relied on that for information that could have produced bad results, I but don't know for certain.
If Ventura...
That's weird... I set all the ports to the proper type, deleted the ports that weren't discovered, and removed discovered ports I didn't need that were above the 15 port limit. I did leave the Broadcom as "internal" (figured that was correct for that, but maybe I'm wrong).
Once the list was...
