Sorry for late resonpse, it's extremely busy these days.
I have done those changes in config.plist and also removed both LoginHook & LogoutHook.
checked MSR 0xE2 with the tool brought by Opencore
Now what I observed is:
Setting Startup disk doesn't report error anymore. However, it just...
Thank you CaseSJ. Yes I have Catalina set up and running well(well, mostly). I have followed KGP's X99 guide thus the MSR 0xE2 is unlocked.
The reason I am trying to enable nvram is that this is one section in Opencore Vanilla desktop guide in post installation. Other than that, I read in some...
No, it's first generation Ausu X99 Deluxe: https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/X99DELUXE/
I remembered I read some posts mentioned before that some Asus board require LoginHook as well. I tried to add it serveral months back but seems not working too thus I reverted that change. But still I can...
Thanks CaseySJ
Now I have moved to Opencore 0.5.8 with Catalina 10.15.4 and the hardware is same.
I have tried your advice and looks it's nothing different from testing it via reboot.
I also tried to change startup disk via system perferences but it's just not working while I tried to lock...
Hello everyone,
My build is based on Asus X99 Deluxe which does have a nvram but not compatible with Mac. As a result, I need to do the emulated NVRAM.
I followed this guide "https://khronokernel-2.gitbook.io/opencore-vanilla-desktop-guide/extras/nvram"
and BTW I'm installing Catalina with...
Seems my board is a little bit different. (Asus X99 Deluxe)
Here is my usb map on the back, plus 2 front usb3.0 on the motherboards which located as HS01-HS04/SS01-SS04.
The interesting part is the last two USB ports on the back which are located in PCI0/RP07/D08D. If I plug a USB device in...
I think I finally figured it out. It's not a software issue but a hardware issue.
It seems that the USB port of my case in front pannel is problematic. Once unpluged it from motherboard, the sleeping is working well.
For deeper investigation, I used a multimeter to validate the connectivity of...
I tried serveral times sleep and find following patterns:
1. When mouse click the sleep button, it's important that mouse should not move at all after the clicking. Otherwise instead of sleeping, it will immediately turn back to normal working status.
2. There are very small chances that wake up...
Hello
I built a new hackintosh based on X99 system recently.
Specification:
MB: Asus X99 Deluxe
CPU: E5 2603 v3
GPU: Asus 5700XT reference
Memory: DDR4 8G * 4
SSD: Samsung SM961 256G
Monitor: Samsung C34F791 3440*1440
My goal is to install latest Catalina(10.15.3) to get 5700XT support with...
Hello,
I'm just new to hackintosh for 1 month and many concepts are still new to me.
Now I'm working on a X99 build:
Asus X99 Deluxe
E5 2603 v3(would upgrade to E5 1660 v3 soon)
Asus 5700xt reference
DDR4 8G * 4 Memory
The goal is trying to install latest Catalina 10.15.3 with OpenCore 0.56...
My bad. I didn't mention I have a water cooled system so absolutely I will overclock those CPU. Considering 1660 v3 should be able to handle at least 4.2 GHz, so the single thread performance should not be that different. (Admit that still 9400F should be better if 1660 v3 only OC to 4.3G)...
Thank you for your reply.
I think MB price should not be an issue since Z370 board is around 120$. The only thing is that the mainstream platform has a much higher CPU price. If I would like to have a 8 cores, 16 threads CPU in mainstream, the only choice is going for 9900k which is much much...
Hello everyone,
I'm planning to build a new Macintosh and need some advice.
It's all about buget thus I'm not choosing the latetst Z390 platform. (Also considering there should be new generation coming soon)
The MB price in X99/Z370 in my place is similar is similar. e.g. Top boards in both...
