Gutted, no joy, still not booting, tried a few different ways and the arch=i386 on its own made it think for a bit but then black screen again :problem: :banghead:

would you have any idea what I would do with the files that ellnic uploaded - Files needed for Dell Inspiron 1720. I have downloaded them, but dont know how to use them. Do I need the Snow Leopard to boot first or can I run them from a pen drive.

Ok, Thanks again, I thought that I would get around it as ellnic seems to have done it with his spec - Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 GM965 Chipset Bluetooth (BCM92045MD) Wifi (BCM4311KFBG) Nvidia 8600M GT I have asked how but ellnic hasn't picked it up yet. trust me to have the wrong setup...
