well from people I know that work professionally in animation / 3D, they actually dont use Macs but Windows machines..it also depends how many displays you use, additional cards etc..

NOTE: For the G73 you NEED to boot with PCIRootUID=1.. NOT 0..with 0 it works only on the Asus G74SX, but not this G73 models.. I had to doublecheck this and edit the org.chameleon.Boot.plist on the ML USB stick.. cheers

well, it doesnt work? Maybe because my installation is stock 10.8.2, not 10.8.0 ? It is unclear if that guide is working with the modded 203 BIOS and the updated DSDT posted. could you perhaps answer in the original thread? I thought you were very successful in that thread? ..would be great...

I tried to install Mavericks but together with the Nvidia Update and audio it wasnt stable at all. Now back to ML, all running without Bluetooth. The Wifi seems to be kinda slow, connection is ok though.. maybe I try my older Dell 1510 card.

as u see in the photo above the two USB connectors fit quite good directly under the slim DVD. For opening I just pull on the old´superdrive´-sticker that still is on the lid ;) . In OSX,when I eject the DVD, it pops out, but the Quicksilver DVD lid is of course too heavy, that it would open...

ok, found the prob..on the USB in the original chameleon.plist there was the flag ´GraphicsEnabler=No´ set ..I dont know why my flag writing ´GE=Yes´didnt succeed though ? changed it to ´yes´ and now the installer loads.

I try to install Mavericks on my G74SX but the installer wont show up. After booting the Unibeast USB stick and loading the kexts the screen stays just black. All seems to load fine up to PCI check when the installer would show up after. I tried with -PCIRootUID=0 GraphicsEnabler=Yes -v -x ...

this is the only working VoodooHDA version that works on my G73JH..(remove AppleHDA before) I´m looking for a trackpad kext..mine works kinda but no prefPane..

ML themes for logintolion For the heck I cant find the location of the themes folder in ML (10.8.2), after installing the new chimera with Multibeast an Extra was created, but only with a ´modules ´in it.. I want to use it with log in to lion themes..I worked great with SL though..

..added two USB ports under the slim DVD on the front, audio/mic I didn´t really use in the last years but maybe I´ll put in a full panel later.
