Yeah, I missed that the first time around as well (show all devices), but on a re-read I caught it. ... it stinks that apple chooses to bury menu items, especially when you are in was is essentially an ADMIN tool.
I use the headset on my MBP all the time ;) It *definitely* has a mic built into the cable, and the buttons function perfectly as well (vol up, vol down, play/pause) (Again, on the MBP).
I don't use the cable that it shipped with. It appears the product is no longer available, but this is a...
Hey all, just a quick update and 2 issues.
Firstly, I've been slowly adding Software in my attempt to port over from my MBP while working from home. So far, so good.
I do a lot of data work, so notably:
mySQL Server, Workbench
I was gifted a 5k monitor...
Both methods seem to work perfectly:
=> Prevent computer from sleeping auto... CHECKED
=> Wake for network access... UNCHECKED
Thanks a million! Computer is starting to seem "real" at this point. Another week of testing and I'll attempt the Time Machine backup from my MBP and use it more...
Well, I'm just a day late and a dollar short!
I've only had the system built less than a week, and everything seems really good so far. Most of my work is cloud/web based, so no real shockers that everything is good on that front.
One issue I've noticed is that waking from sleep causes some...
I've got some very good news. The bidirectional DP<=>USB cable works flawlessly. Might want to add this to the "recommended items" (if you have a USB monitor of course!)
Thank you very much for that tip. I'll simply buy the bi-directional DP<=>USB-C cable and plug her into the Radeon, and keep my fingers crossed. If it doesn't work, no big deal.
I was **thinking** about option2 (enabling the iGPU), but indeed, I care more about the platform and application...
This might be a stretch here. I did the install with the Radeon GPU config.plist (naturally, since I have Armor card). Ok, that's great and working with my old ASUS monitor over HDMI just fine.
On my MBP, I have "LG 21.5" HD 4K Ultra Fine LED Monitor Black for Mac Only" hooked up. Connects via...
Indeed. Now that I'm beginning to understand the architecture of the platform a bit I can start messing around a bit. It's nice moving from "following steps" to actually understanding what's happening!
