    X299 Big Sur Support

Xeon of course is much snappier, no comparison. I use the M1 for more consumption and emails, browsing and slack. I tried some Photoshop stuff but it's a no go for me. I need that snappy speed so I have the desktop for that.

I officially have no more PCs, just a Mac Pro 7,1 and M1 MacBook Air. It was fun while it lasted. Enjoy everyone wishing you the best in the future! ~izo1

The best thing to do is grab a base EFI like @djlild7hina mentioned and tinker until it works for you, this way if anything goes wrong you know what to fix. OpenCore is not that difficult, even though it seems tedius.

    X299 Big Sur Support

Just got it, and not gonna sugar coat it but I probably got the best deal ever. 28c 32GB RAM 580X 4TB SSD (OEM Apple) for just $6500 This probably retailed for $15,000+ not counting tax. I'm going to drop in the 6900XT into it (Probably leave the 580X or remove it) and upgrade the RAM to 192GB...

I'm buying a used Mac Pro 28 core to hold me over to end of 2022 hah! Going to put the 6900XT in there. Sad but can't be tweaking during work!

Thanks for that! I've tried this ROM, and different BIOSES. I am not using a jumped pin for now, and have settings enabled. Most likely it has to do with that. Are you using the TB mobo cable? BTW if you enable the jumper mod, the TB settings in the BIOS are overriden I think. @djlild7hina...

    X299 Big Sur Support

It shows 10Gb/x2 after plugging it in on a fresh cold boot. Then a soft reboot makes it work properly at 40Gb/x2 or whatever the speed is. Can't believe I wasted hours on this haha, but overall it's all good now! Also on my end, USB-C is wonky if you don't "activate" the TB3 first, which is by...

Thanks to @CaseySJ and others for helping. I just flashed the GC-Titan Ridge with NVM23 and NVM33 and it does indeed show up in ioreg again. Currently on NVM33 (Aorus Extreme) This is how it looks when doing a cold boot with TB3 device connected: Then it looks like this if removed and...
