I have exactly the same problem on one of my builds (Thomas3). Same mobo, but with RX570. And I'm running High Sierra.
System randomly freezes (unresponsive and no network) and mouse becomes weird square.
I'll try to disable "launch CSM" in bios.
All help is welcome!
Same mobo and I got past the same point by doing and/or applying:
- installing High Sierra 10.13.6
- use the ACPI patch by @mattystonnie
- use latest Clover (v2.5k_r5070)
- use Lilu 1.3.7. and Whatevergreen 1.3.0 in EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other
- use USBinjectAll in EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other
- use USB...
I updated from 10.13.3 to 10.13.4+ and got a black screen error after updating Nvidia driver to last version. Editing my config.plist with CsrActiveConfig to 0x00 > reboot > CsrActiveConfig to 0x67 was the solution.
All kexts latest versions.
I can confirm.
Just installed EVGA GTX 1080 Ti FE on my z77x UP5.
Dowloaded latest FakeSMC from RehabMan:
ACPISensors and CPUSensors work
LPCSensors and/or GPUSensors will result in a crash
10.12.6 / Clover 4128
First, check if your PSU is Haswell certified (I'm sure you already did).
I would suggest to do a fresh install with Clover. It made my system much more stable. It took me a while to get really comfortable with it, but in the end it definitely was worth the time.
But, I was running Clover with...
I have same values.
But if I check by loading manually AppleCPUPowerManagementInfo.kext, I get 8, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40

I'm using Clover, without DSDT / SSDT and
Generate P/C-states = true
XMP detection = 1
