The only way it could is in the way the OS handles BIOS. OSX hackintoshes can sometimes run a degree or two warmer than with Windows, but assuming your temps are well within safe levels for your board, then there is nothing to worry about.
As far as temps go, it's about as dangerous as...
Are you getting any Kernel Panics though? My experience with the Marvell ports hasnt been too great so far but if you're not not getting any panics then I might consider swapping my SSD into there.
Have you tried benchmarking the drive when connected to the Intel (blue) sata ports on your board? The reason I'm asking is that I've heard that SSDs won't kernel panic when connected to the Marvell ports (unline blue ray drives, which do), so I'm interested to see what kind of a difference...
Some webcams are plug and play, others are not and need their own drivers. I think the Lifecam falls into the latter category.
Some of the Lifecams do work OOTB though, so do you mind me asking which model of Lifecam you own please?
I've just thought too, that if the sticks he was provided are indeed different, then the required voltages could be different as well. Running those badboys out of voltage will cause instability.
Regarding the memory I used (corsair xms3), these were sold in Dual Channel kits of 2x2GB, but they definitely work for triple channel. As far as I know, they are only dual channel kits because they are sold in pairs as many mobos only have 4 slots. If they sell them in kits of 3, then I guess...
Out of interest, did you follow the nofilmschool build guide? Your build is fairly similar to mine :)
The marvell ports arent properly supported by OSX, and they do cause kernel panics with certain devices, for instance my Blu Ray drive KPs periodically whenever I use those ports. So long as...
I did not bother with the metal shielding as the Apple card is already shielded, and I don't care too much about aesthetics. After all, my sytem's case is going to be shut 99% of the time.
Hey Greendude,
1. The issue shouldn't be with Lion, since many guides on here recommend that you start with 4GB and add the rest when your system is running stable. Indeed, this approach is the one I took with that same board. Whilst starting with 8GB shouldnt cause any problems - and many have...
The motherboard on the Dell Optiplex 755 uses an Intel Q35 Express chipset, which there is not a DSDT for in Tony's list. Somebody might have made their own but it's unlikely.
^^THIS
It's simply not enough to know that a kernel panic occurs at a certain point, as it still could be one of maybe a dozen things that caused it. Some people it's graphics, others it's their SATA interface etc. It varies each time because everyone's system is different in some ways.
 Remove your ethernet/wireless whatever from the network interfaces list. (system prefs>network)
 Do the fix above
 Restart
 Re-add your network devices (whatever you removed beforehand) so that you are back online
 Try App store again (should work)
Above...
