    << Solved >> Hardware Encoding Vega 64

I've been running iMacPro1,1 on my 9900KS for about 1,5 years now, so problems so far! I fully support the message you linked by @verendus, but I think looking at activity monitor or iStat isn't the best benchmark. I would rather, as Verendus also mentions, look at the render speed and...

    << Solved >> Hardware Encoding Vega 64

So, just my two cents here, but for me, iMacPro1,1 performs way better than iMac19,1. I'm also running a 9900KS with Vega 64, and I mostly use it for Davinci Resolve. All my exports were a lot slower in iMac19,1 compared to iMacPro1,1. Maybe it's different for you if you mainly use Premiere and...

It is a digital output, the sound is outputted via DP or HDMI, and therefore cannot be volume controlled by the volume keys or volume slider, you have to use the volume control on the DP/HDMI device, ie monitor or TV.

Wait, that's a great score! Are you running DR Studio by chance, so both GPU's get used? Can you try clearing DR cache, and double checking the frame rate? @verendus got 22 seconds on the first run but got 45 after double checking. Otherwise, we have to dig deeper to figure out how you got such...

Ok, let's try and make this more readable. SETUP This is test is to see how different SMBIOS with iGPU either enabled, disabled or in headless mode have an effect on render speeds. iMacPro1,1 = iGPU disabled, only dGPU (Vega 64) iMac19,1 = iGPU enabled, headless (using OC 0.5.9, see code...

I stand corrected then! Did you get headless mode working on OC or Clover? I'd try iMac19,1 on my machine if there's an easy way UPDATE: Wait no I tested it just now: on iMac19,1 with iGPU enabled and headless mode, I get 38 seconds, tested it twice. Reran with iMacPro1,1 w/o iGPU and I get 34...

I made a new project, 4K60, on DR 16.2.3, exporting only the .mov to MP4 H264, using 'use hardware acceleration if available', with 'automatic' quality. It took 35 seconds. I'm on 64GB RAM, iMacPro1,1, iGPU disabled in BIOS. Really interested to see if there's any difference, @verendus!

Thank you for your long and detailed reply, but this is not in accordance with my findings. I did a simple test, I compared a DR project (with H264, HEVC, and even DNG timelapses) with iMacPro without iGPU and iMac19,1 with iGPU. The export time on iMacPro1,1 was ~18 minutes, on iMac19,1 it was...

Correction :) : my system has iGPU disabled, so only using the Vega 64, and I get to do very quick HEVC and H.264 de- and encoding. VDA Decoder is 'fully supported' according to Hackintool.

I've had the same issue trying to install F9h. For some reason, I cannot enter BIOS by pressing DEL during boot. I had to boot to Windows and use their Qflash app to downgrade back to F8, which I fortunately backed up, so all my settings are still intact.

I've been running a Hackintosh since 2012, with mostly great exports, in both FCPX and DR. One time, when I had to buy a new GPU, and it wasn't set up properly, my exports had a weird sound issue, but with my new build (same as yours, only Vega 64) my exports have been great and very fast...

I don't wanna ruin everyone's RadeonBoost party, but so far in my testing, I only found my system to be slower with the kext. Let me explain: I'm running a VEGA 64 8GB and 9900KS on Clover with iMacPro1,1 with iGPU disabled (in hindsight, the 9900KS doesn't make any sense whatsoever). I tried...

I was for a few months, happily using n-d-k. Now I'm on Clover as I might have accidentally destroyed my home folder :shifty: and had to reinstall 10.15.4, and I conveniently had a backup Clover USB with the same serial lying around, so I just used that one.
