Xserve Raid to JBOD/NAS Full Stock

Ok a little update on figuring out the circuit path to this last light for the raid control status. As far as I can tell there is a 5v shared input coming into the PCB for all of the lights and that 5v is going through 2 resistors before making its way to the led annode. There is a pin in for...

Xserve Raid to JBOD/NAS Full Stock

Ok so many have tried....few have succeeded but I think I have a good plan in place and am off to a good start. The plan is to convert an Xserve Raid to be used as a JBOD/ SAS expander back to a NAS server or Hackintosh raid controller. This will allow me to keep the case and all of the...

macOS Sierra PB: Need testers for new AMD Radeon drivers!

Thanks since this is a single purpose machine thats been the sticking point. I appreciate what the community has done. To further the cause. I can't imagine abandoning the Apple coolaid , and since they have control of the hardware software they can definitely squeeze every bit out of...

    pastrychef's build - Asus Maximus VIII Gene - i7-7700K - GTX 1080

I'm definitely going to evaluate the synology clone idea.My other option is something like FreeNAS or trying to find a hardware raid controller that Mac OS X gets along with . So I'm not using a Xserve server but rather I've retrofitting a Xserve raid system . They weren't made by Apple for long...

https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/final-cut-pro-x-10-3-crash.211095/ and its being discussed in the radeon testing thread for the rx 480 cards. I've seen several comments around about crashing problems with fcpx 10.3.2 . Its keeping on the fence about what graphics card to purchase for my...

macOS Sierra PB: Need testers for new AMD Radeon drivers!

Did anyone resolve the RX 480 issue with the latest version of FCPX 10.3.2 or is it still crashing? I'm in the middle of purchasing parts for a FCPX workstation only Hackintosh and am lost on how to approach the graphics compatibility situation? I haven't been able to find a follow up on that...

Yeah there is good linux driver support for the mellanox cards and they are cheaper than the SolarFlare cards. Based on the Graphics Card threads the Radeon support in FCPX latest is creating problems such that it won't launch so I'm kind of waiting it out to see what happens.

Excellent I picked one up and a Mellanox for NAS. Last thing now is sorting the graphics issue

I'm working on building a FCPX editing machine and a NAS to offload all of that data. 1 gig ethernet won't cut it and I saw you had managed to get a 10 gige solution working. I went over to SolarFlare's website to take a look at the driver support and I wanted to see if you have noticed any...

    AMD Radeon RX 480

I was told by a development person that in the latest version of FCPX 10.3.2 the under the covers settings that uses compressor for hardware accelerated rendering and software rendering has been fully switched to hardware only rendering. I think the same issue that is breaking FCPX 10.3.2 on...
