Possible to wire up power button without front logic panel?

Oops! Glad to see others have dived in with better explanations than mine. Re-soldering wire(s) should be no problem. Only thing to be aware of is to avoid excessive heat transfer, meaning don't hold the soldering iron on the solder pad, on the back of the switch, for too long - just enough to...

Possible to wire up power button without front logic panel?

The ones I've seen had 3 wires - perhaps that's the later version? Anyway, I guess that two are for power button and other two for LED light. Hopefully someone else can be precise, but failing that, should be easy to figure out if you can grab a multimeter (ohms) and check all the (6?)...

    Contrary to hackintoshing, laptops.

I would certainly not spend a lot of money on a non-Apple laptop. However, it's hard to argue against a <$300 netbook with OSX as a grab'n'go machine you can take places and abuse in ways where you'd think twice about it with a $2000 MBP. Sadly, such times are drawing to an end as cheap...

Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update - The Official Thread

You need to boot off DVD or backup, and remove the RadeonMonitor* (FakeSMC plugin) and when all is well again, I think there's perhaps now a new version (not checked that though) for 10.6.8. Don't forget to rebuild the mkexts to also remove the bad plugin from there also. *Don't know where you...

enable AHCI for SATA without Bios access

Um, most (all?) SSDs can run in IDE mode (perhaps losing a few percent speed). I guess just you don't get the ACHI stuff like NCQ etc? Not ideal, but OK. The main issue might be - if using certain vendor's SSDs that they seem to not like working in certain environments/BIOSs. Or they are just...

enable AHCI for SATA without Bios access

Some thoughts: 1) Did you try anyway? Perhaps it's defaulted to ACHI. 2) If not, this DSDT approach might be a way to force AHCI: http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1150 But might not be applicable to your controller, depending on what it is (ICH-xyz). 3) Perhaps easier to...

    Kernel Panic Error

Try with latest iBoot, perhaps has different VoodooHDA. Else, can you turn off on-board audio in BIOS? At least until install is done and you've run multibeast (w/o including VoodooHDA) to make system bootable w/o use of iBoot?

[SOLVED] gigabyte ga-x58a-ud3r i7 930 post install problems

Re: gigabyte ga-x58a-ud3r i7 930 post install problems Not off top of head, other than a bad DSDT. Can you boot all the way in Single User Mode (-s)? Else, suggest to do complete reinstall, and take it step by step. Ideally make backup drive at each stage (make it bootable, ideally) so you can...

i7 950 Failing IntelBurnTest at Stock Speeds!

Am wondering if it might be that you need to bump memory voltage up a bit since you have 8GB installed. You didn't mention whether you have some overclock on memory, but even if you don't, perhaps the extra memory load (4 sticks, running dual channel mode?) is where to look?

Can someone please explain this KP error.(SOLVED)

Re: Can someone please explain this KP error and possible cause Is there anything in BIOS that you can disable, like cores? Sorry no idea what Shuttle X38 is. Still thinking it's somehow CPU related...which might of course not be the real problem! Only other idea I have is that Chameleon is...

Can someone please explain this KP error.(SOLVED)

Re: Can someone please explain this KP error and possible cause Am guessing that it's related to cpu threads etc. Not sure whether it makes any difference to kernel, but did you try cpus=1 (rather than CPUS=1)?

    Cant boot SNow leopard

Looks like it's not happy with the firewire, presume the PC has FW? Can you disable firewire in BIOS? Or if it's on a PCI/e card, pull it out?

[SOLVED] gigabyte ga-x58a-ud3r i7 930 post install problems

Re: gigabyte ga-x58a-ud3r i7 930 post install problems Re: Choice of OS when booting. You don't say what configuration you have. I guess it's two HDs, one for OSX and one for Win7? If/when you ran Multibeast, depending on what options you selected, you probably then got the Chameleon bootloader...
