Hi all. I also just wanted to chime in. I did a fresh install using @daigosx EFI and it worked fine. I have yet to test all functionality thoroughly but two things that don't work are:
1) mouse pad tracking and gesture works but buttons don't
2) brightness keys don't work
I can live with that at...
I just tried booting with the HDMI connected, as rebooting with a DVD inside seem to have helped with recognising the DVD with issue 3) in my last post, and I get a kernel panic around mid-way through booting... There seems to be something not quite right with the HDMI. Does anybody recognise...
Like I said in my previous post, I have now switched to OpenCore using daigosx and bhedge's EFIs as baseline. I updated OC to 0.6.5 and am mostly pretty happy. Thanks!
However, there are some minor inconveniences with this 10.15.7-OC setup:
1) The trackpad scrolling seems to be on or off...
Thanks! Could you elaborate on how to 'fill in PlatformInfo'? I used OpenCore Configurator to fill it in but it doesn't seem to save it to the config.plist.
EDIT: Got it to save to the config but it doesn't seem to be applied. With Custom mode it says OPENCORE_SN1 and with mode create it says...
I just noticed that the card reader isn't working in Catalina 10.15 or in 10.15.1. I don't know if it was working in Mojave or High Sierra but when I tried using it today I noticed it does not work. Is this not supported?
I recently had my laptop crash for no apparent reason but thought nothing of it. But recently it has happened multiple times. Here are three of the crash reports:
Does anyone see why it keeps crashing?
EDIT: I researched a bit more and found a post saying turning off power saving mode for...
Thanks for replying but silly me didn't rebuild kext cache *facepalm* so after fixing permissions
sudo chmod -Rf 755 /L*/E*
sudo chown -Rf 0:0 /L*/E*
and rebuild kext cache
sudo kextcache -i /
it now finally works!
I assume you mean in L/E as that's the only place I found these files. I replaced BrcmFirmwareRepo, BrcmNonPatchRAM2, and then deleted BrcmPatchRAM2 and replaced it with BrcmPatchRAM3. Is that correct? Because it didn't work...
EDIT: also tried leaving BrcmPatchRAM2 in without BrcmPatchRAM3...
I also successfully updated to Catalina from Mojave with the exception of Bluetooth which is not working anymore although wifi is (using Broadcom BCM94352Z), and that my recovery volume seems to be default boot volume (even when I change it in the config.plist)
Can anyone help?
Yes, thank you I figured it out. And that must have been the issue. It now works perfectly fine :) The only thing that bothers me is that I have no clue how VoodooHDA was installed... must have been from one of the failed previous attempts :/ Is there any way to remove unnecessary kexts/ know...
I did! 100% and whenever I update using the given terminal commands it gets updated
EDIT: it being voodoo
EDIT2: Hold on I just checked in L/E and in my EFI folder and I can't seem to find VoodooHDA? And yes I see now the voodoo that gets updated is the PS2Controller
EDIT3: I just deleted the...
