    B760 chipset (Raptor Lake) compatibility

Start with MrMinimizer's thread linked from #5.

New install for ASUS TUF Gaming Z790-Plus WiFi D4 w/i7-13700K CPU

I was referring to the Serial, Board Serial, SmUUID, and ROM "REPLACE-ME-NOW" fields from your upload. Nothing unexpected.

    B760 chipset (Raptor Lake) compatibility

My new build is complete and working. I used MrMinimizer's EFI as a template (see this thread). My setup is as follows: motherboard: ASRock B760M-HDV/M.2 LGA 1700 DDR4 Micro ATX cpu: Intel Core i7-13700F Raptor Lake gpu: Gigabyte Radeon RX 5700 XT other good stuff: psu: EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G3...

New install for ASUS TUF Gaming Z790-Plus WiFi D4 w/i7-13700K CPU

Thanks very much to MrMinimizer for posting the OC EFI from his build. Just wanted to say I was able to use that to get my own new build, which uses the ASRock B760M mobo and the 13700F variant of the CPU, up and running with very minimal effort. Besides updating the missing fields in the...

    B760 chipset (Raptor Lake) compatibility

Thanks for the guidance. I have an RX 5700 XT in my current hackintosh which I plan to pull for use in my new build. I will probably get an i7-13700F (no onboard graphics) since it would not work with MacOS anyway.

    B760 chipset (Raptor Lake) compatibility

I'm curious if anyone has considered the possibility of a hackintosh built on the B760 chipset and intel 13th gen. I see plenty of discussion on the Z790 thread and I wonder if the B760 is a worthy drop-in replacement, or if there would be compatibility issues affecting MacOS. Specifically I'm...

Radeon RX DisplayPort outputs - how do they work? (question and a solution)

This motherboard only has a single PCIe x16 slot, so it's definitely in that one. When I first step up this system in 2017 I had just a completely terrible time getting AppleALC to work to drive digital (spdif/optical) audio output from the onboard Realtek ALC887 audio (following toleda's...

Radeon RX DisplayPort outputs - how do they work? (question and a solution)

Thanks again, Edhawk! I can't explain how it could have, but I don't have any other hypothesis for why my DP output spontaneously stopped working. I wonder if there is some NVRAM, either in the BIOS or in the GPU, that Windows changed the state of. I've never been entirely clear on what...

Radeon RX DisplayPort outputs - how do they work? (question and a solution)

I recently upgraded my system to a Gigabyte Radeon RX 5700 XT. This card has 3 DisplayPort outputs and 1 HDMI. For context, I need to use the DisplayPort because my monitor will only do 4k@60Hz using DisplayPort 1.2, and also I need the sole HDMI output for audio to my receiver. When I...

Upgrading from Sierra with old Clover and IONVMeFamily Patches

Just to update my progress here: I still haven't found a way to get a r5126+ clover to boot Sierra on my machine. I did discover that I can get Clover r5102 (the version from unibeast 9.3) to boot Sierra if I manually add in the NVME patches, which is a minor incremental step. Thanks for the...

Upgrading from Sierra with old Clover and IONVMeFamily Patches

I would like to end up with an install of Big Sur on the NVME SSD. I'm attempting to install macos on the separate HDD only as a workaround because I can't get a new Clover to work with Sierra and the SSD (if I could I wouldn't bother with the HDD at all). Physically removing the NVME card...

Upgrading from Sierra with old Clover and IONVMeFamily Patches

RX 5700 XT support requires at least macOS Catalina 10.15.1, and either Catalina or Big Sur will require newer Clover. In the interim I can use the built-in Intel HD 630 graphics to complete the install. So it seems the simplest (and recommended) thing is to upgrade Clover first, which is...

Upgrading from Sierra with old Clover and IONVMeFamily Patches

I should perhaps mention that my SSD is a Samsung 960 EVO M.2 (500GB). So I don't think NVMeFix.kext will help.

Upgrading from Sierra with old Clover and IONVMeFamily Patches

Thanks, will check out NVMeFix.kext, which had not been on my radar until just now. The nvidia GTX 970 is actually the main reason why I am so far behind on macos updates (combined with pandemic pricing for decent GPUs). I only just recently managed to pick up a Radeon RX 5700 XT, which I will...

Upgrading from Sierra with old Clover and IONVMeFamily Patches

I wonder if anyone has previously encountered or solved this very specific problem. I'm currently on macos Sierra (10.12.6) using Clover r4173. I want to upgrade Clover to a newer version (r5138) so that I can upgrade to Big Sur. The problem is that I have a B250 chipset and an m.2 NVME SSD...
