    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Hi @CaseySJ , I just spent half a day to figure out what the best settings for an up to date Open Core machine might be in terms of iGPU. I think I want to deactivate my iGPU as I think it might be causing trouble in Davinci Resolve. My current config.plist reads...

Thank you. I actually managed to get rid of a few things that weren’t needed anymore. However, problem persists. I did notice that if I let the login screen linger for some time and the log in, the taskbar loads immediately. So it’s probably nothing connected to my specific user.

My system boots perfectly. But, after I enter my login data, it takes about 30 seconds for all the icons in the upper taskbar (where date and time are) to load. This is extremely annoying since even the Little Snitch Filter doesn't load, so every time I boot up, I end up waiting almost 1 min for...

Mouse LAG/FREEZE/HANG using new RT 5700 XT GPU

Try using a different color profile in monitor settings of macOS. I think that's working much better for me now!

I reformatted the disk and cloned my backup from CCC. The error is gone but write speed remain low. COuld this be in any way related to Big Sur 11.2.1? Is anybody else experiencing low write speeds?

I am experiencing hiccups on my system drive lately. Write speed dropped to 450MB/sec, read speed at approx. 2100MB/sec. The only clue I have: When I run disk utility, it says that there's a problem with the partition table and the size of the EFI partition. Is that normal? The drive is: ADATA...

The Count I had already changed, but what fixed it for me was the BIOS setting. I didn't notice that had changed for some reason. Thank you!

Sorry Casey. I posted before but that's obviously long forgotten. I've done pretty much everything this threat is suggesting. And on Catalina the HotPlug was working fine. It's just since I switched to Big Sur and OC that it's not working anymore. I activated the fix in the Editor but it's not...

Could the problem be related to my RAM running at 3200Mhz in XMP Profile1?

I just realized another thing that might point into the right direction. When I eject a disk, it would disappear from the desktop but it's actually not ejected. After about 3 minutes I get the error message that the disk was not properly ejected. Something wrong with the SATA bus in general?

For some reason, I have a completely different value in there, even though I used the template file.

I might have used the wrong template then. Another rookie mistake, ugh. I thought Intel and AMD refer to the CPU. I am going to convert my config to headless. Is the platform ID the only difference between the templates? I am guessing that the AMD template also includes the pikera boot arg which...
