Happy to report that I updated to the latest Monterey 12 Beta (21A5304g) with no problems whatsoever. It's running great on my HP 8300 i7 with Nvidia Geforce GT 710.
Thanks to all that have made this possible. I love this computer and MacOS of course!
Boy are you wrong! This move is going to make Mac sales go through the roof. It may **** off alot of old school users but it's going to bring in tons of new users to the Mac. Apple is doing everything right. You'll see.
Hey all. I just installed the Catalina Public Beta on my HP 8300 SFF with intel i7, 16GB and Nvidia GT 710.
All seems to be working so far including Bluetooth and HDMI audio. The only thing I did before installing was to update clover and on the kext installer section I downloaded the AppleALC...
So I was able to fix the graphics issue by uninstalling the Nvidia and selecting nvidia web drvrs in CBM :headbang:
Now that all is good again I need to figure out the high sierra upgrade issue. Is this even worth it or should I just stay on Sierra?
Also, I assume it's the latest version of...
During the High Sierra upgrade, as outlined on the instructions page, I first run the terminal command and approve those changes by typing A and entering my password at the prompt at which point the system automatically reboots and I'm supposed to select the installer icon at the CBM then after...
You rock cmn699! I was able to follow you and am now able to boot normally once again, thank you.
The odd thing is that my screen has been acting up since trying to do this whole update and it get’s these fast moving horizontal lines and squares when scrolling up and down even though my 'about...
Hi cmn699, I’m thinking about doing a clean install with High Sierra usb but since I am able to boot into Sierra just fine as long as I use the usb thumb drive, isn’t there a way that I can fix this setup so that I don’t have to use the usb to get my Sierra to boot up normally like it was...
Hi, yeah I caught that and edited that post. Yes the thumb drive that I was using to get clover boot manager had Sierra on it so I guess that’s why it was going to that installation screen.
I posted a pic of the verbose screen where it hangs on startup now without using the usb thumb drive...
Ok i figured out the -v thing. I was supposed to select it and click boot with selected options instead of selecting return o_O
So this time the system booted into a screen that shows the ‘Set up Mac os’ page.
Should I choose ‘continue’ here?
Edit: I think the macos install screen was...
So here’s what happens, I rebooted with the usb thumb drive in order to get the clover load screen, hit the space bar and checked off -v verbose, clicked return and then the HFS icon. However my system rebooted successfully into Sierra again but no verbose lines appeared during that bootup...
I screwed up big time and upgraded to high sierra without taking any precautions and now my computer will not get passed the white screen and beachball :banghead:
I have an SSD and i now see that I needed to handle this before updating so my question of course is how do I fix my screw up?
So...
