Thanks for that; when I click on "more info" for the drive (or use the terminal command diskutil list) it does confirm the file format is hfs. (I believe hfs+ but I can't recall).
I should note that it's a storage drive for the Mac, not the windows OS. I wasn't totally clear about that before...
Thanks for your reply - I'll check on all those things today and update.
I can tell you the following information right now:
1) I believe the drive was not connected during the windows install. While I can't remember 100% , I do recall pulling all othe drives to make sure I could locate the...
After updating to Sierra my internal storage SSD (which I use to hold all of my audio samples for production) will no longer mount. All of my libraries are on this drive (although they are backed up somewhere I believe) so I can't point my software to the libraries.
I have tried to repair the...
I have a related question Going Bald. I recently installed Sierra on an SSD and I already had Windows 10 on a separate SSD (I made the update from El Capitan to Sierra - but used an entirely new drive for Sierra so the El Cap drive is no longer in the computer). When I was booting via clover...
did you ever fix this issue? I'm having the same trouble... It didn't do it on my previous El Cap / Win 10 double boot system (separate SSD's like you) but it does it on my new Sierra / Win 10 system. Trying to fix it. Any luck for you?
I found a solution which was to clear NVRAM. At the clover screen select to open the UEFI shell. Then type 'bcfg boot dump'. Then type exit and try to access the SSD or HDD in question. If that doesn't work you may need to restart. Everything worked great for me after that!
[Solved]
Thanks so much for your suggestion to clear NVRAM. I honestly didn't know I would have to considering I *thought* NVRAM was exclusive only to real macs, but after doing some research I saw it was related to the BIOS.
I used the command 'bcfg boot dump' in the uefi shell to clear the...
Can I clear NVRAM by selecting "Start UEFI Shell 64" at the clover boot screen? I went in there but my traditional terminal commands don't seem to work. It tells me "xxxxx" is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program, or script file. Do I have to do something to run...
I didn't but I'll try that. Can I access terminal from clover without booting into OS X? I've never done that before. Trying to figure out how to clear NVRAM without booting to OS.
Thanks!
I accidentally erased my hack via iCloud when trying to fix iMessage. Now I can't seem to reinstall a fresh copy of OS X on the same drive despite having wiped it clean and reformatted multiple times (SSD).
Anyone experienced this? Is this drive forever unusable?
Fwiw I can install OS X but...
Ok I'm sorry, this is just where I found someone with the same problem as me and I could find very few other threads with a similar issue. My research led me here but I'll look elsewhere. Still very appreciative if you have any insight. Thanks.
I'm having the same issue except on a desktop... my first install of sierra worked perfectly but I accidentally wiped it using iCloud "erase Mac" trying to fix iMessage. Would you mind checking my thread and giving me your ideas? Fwiw I've build many hacks, and I know the hardware and clover...
