    Haunted by 0xdeadbeef

I wonder if these people's kernel panics were a result of the same problem I've been having? I tried rehabman's patch here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/mavericks-laptop-support/114677-haswell-early-reboot-mavericks-locked-msrs-hp-envy-15-j063cl-i7-4700mq.html (I just patched the mach_kernel on...

Wow, that's great news. That's ok, I was actually most interested in ruling out hardware failure as a first priority. I don't mind picking up a graphics card now that I have a 4k monitor LOL. Maybe I'll test that hypothesis, then RMA my Corsair memory, and take back the GSkill since I don't...

That is, any memory region containing "0xdeadbeefdeadbeefdeadbeef..." is fair game. Any memory not...

    4k support on HD 4600?

Well it seems I have managed limited success with this problem. If I boot with my 1080p monitor connected to a particular HDMI port (the one closest to the Displayport port) then I can boot with the 4k monitor connected via Displayport. The bootloader uses the 1080p screen, and Mavericks uses...

    4k support on HD 4600?

Hi folks. I've been happily using my first hackintosh build for a year now. Now I have a Samsung UD590 4k monitor. It works with my motherboard (z87x-oc) and cpu (4770k with HD 4600) at native resolution via HDMI in Ubuntu. (However the GNU/Linux desktop on HiDPI displays sucks right now for a...
