I fixed it! All I had to do was use a DVI cable instead of VGA, and no boot flags were necessary and all went as expected.

No change.

I was having apparently random freezes on my Yosemite UniBeast install no matter what I was doing. Disabling Intel graphics in the BIOS fixed it for me. I've had zero freezes for two weeks since I made that change.

I have an M-Audio MobilePre MkII working 100% plug-and-play.

Nope. Nothing at all. Everything just freezes. Even the cursor won't move. I've tried booting with -v hoping it would show something that would help identify the problem, but no such luck.
