got Big Sur to run with my RX 6800 XT + 9900K with your latest EFI folder using the agdmod=pikera boot argument.
Thank you so muhh! Got 2 issues now to tackle:
1) USB issue. I tried replace the SSDT files with the custom SSDT I made and that seems to work although still had weird things happen...
Oh snappp thanks so helpful! Thank
Go CSM enabled i think otherwise my system bricked last time I turned it off. Unless its the opposite lol
Thanks for the agdpmod=pikera tip!
Thank you so much @pastrychef ! You rock!
What version of mac os is that for? Would it work with Big Sur?
I'm now on Catalina but just order the rx 6800XT GPU which needs Big Sur from research. Hoping it can work sticking to my Clover build. I read Big Sur was mainly possible with Open core...
hardware encoding support issue.
hey, @pastrychef.
I just realized that hardware encoding support is reported disabled in MacX Video Converter. Any idea why that would be?
iGPU + dGPU is set in BIOS. my SMBIOS is set to 18.3. I'm running 9900K with Radeon VII and benchmarks well in geekbench...
I had that with 2 monitors. In my case, i had to turn off the second monitor and then back on, i think and then it would work. Or i had to change the display settings in preferences (eg change res of second monitor and then the resolution of both my monitors shoed normally. Was just annoying...
Thanks for the feedback! I'm curious about your TB3 situation. Did you follow the @kgp guide? TB3 hot swap still doesn't work? I'm debating between the Designare and a Deluxe II or X299 Master motherboard + a Titan Ridge adapter PCIe card...
just saw that video ; ) does your TB3 work now? was it a long process to get it work. in the video, their TB3 didnt work in mac os. just for windows. i am debating whether i should get the x299 Designare or a non-TB3 x299 with a separate TB Titan ridge pci adapter ? curious about your experience...
ah ok cool! thanks for the insight! so are you saying that the plenty of fans wash out the noise from the RVII or that the keep the card so cool that it doesnt make a lot of noise? from research, the RVII ramps up because the junction temperature on the die is high not the whole card. curious...
very cool! I just ordered a XFX Radeaon VII (i have the Vegan64 sapphire nitro no). All the reviews say the card is loud AF. How was your experience noise wise? did you use VegaTab to make it less noisy? How does it compare to what you had before?
will do! thanks!
I just caught another potentially related Finder/Saving issue that seems to happen also right after the Photoshop saving issue but it also happens once in a while for other apps, like Adobe InDesign now..
I exported the project (twice) but it saves it as some hidden file and...
ok cool thanks for confirming. I had this idea that MAC OS would get little issues and glitches if the install would go from SSD > HHD > SSD as if it configured its "whatever it configures" to best work on the type of drive it's on. From your response, i can deduct that Mac OS adapters perfect...
ah sweet great to know!!
Is that an issues that you know of cloning an SSD install to an HHD and then cloning that HHD clone to another SSD?
curious about your experience
thanks @pastrychef good eye! I will see if the issue occurs again now that this XMP =no option is set.
If that don't fix it, then I'll get a new SSD hardrive and install Mac OS on it.
SIDE QUESTION, do you think if I clone my Mac OS to a HHD spinning disk, it might have more issues then I...
