Okay, reading through all these threads, I'm cautious about upgrading to HS, it's not sounding as straight forward as previous incremental updates (I am on 10.12.6 (16G29)) - can I just run the update or do I have to install from scratch via all the tools, Multibeast/USB etc.? Recommendations? Tks.
I'm wondering - if this guide could also allow me to create an additional drive boot option to run a Beta version of the new High Sierra when the public version comes out?
I have a stable system that has multiple boot options now for MacOS and Windows (Both installed on separate SDDs, each...
Finally did the cost breakdown by part, including the tools I didn't have, extra cables etc. still ended up being way cheaper than a real Mac Pro would cost! Everything was purchased through Amazon, with my Prime account so free shipping.
Just ended up cutting extra vent holes in the bottom, and installed two internal fans as opposed to the stock, single fan - seems to be doing the trick, even with rendering large video files or playing WOW with the graphics turned on max.
Thanks, I have better understanding for why this GPU won't work after doing some more homework (found this helpful https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nvidia_Optimus) - sure hope Apple's move to develop their own GPU doesn't mess up our Hackintosh world!
So, I don't need graphics switching - but I would assume purchasing a laptop with the GPU I want, that that would be the default system GPU to be used, right (and if that's the case won't this ASUS work)?
Thanks again - other than price, (which is why I liked this one after reading reviews) is Graphics (Adobe CS, PhotoShop, video editing etc.) and dual-boot (this one has an additional SDD bay) like my desktop hacktintosh to run Windows 10 for gaming when I travel.
I did read all 10 questions/6 answers (I trust what you're saying though) would you recommend one of the laptops you've done? Trying to find something affordable (under $1000 USD) without having to buy extra components, tks.
Thanks for your help, read through Q&As but didn't see a reference to the dual GPU, here's what I found on egg and Nvidia, which mentions supporting but not being dual?
