Cannot boot Catalina Installer with OpenCore or Clover UEFI on an HP Elitebook 840 G6! Please help?

I added that kext to get the intel WiFi working. I was following the guide for the airportitlwm.kext. I removed it and reattempted and uploaded the updated EFI files. Please let me know if there is anything I can do! Thanks again!

Cannot boot Catalina Installer with OpenCore or Clover UEFI on an HP Elitebook 840 G6! Please help?

Thank you Feartech! I appreciate you looking into it and providing feedback. I went through revisions and I should have caught that. I have recreated a new recovery usb using that same guide and uploaded the latest files. It just gets stuck and does not progress after some time. In the mean...

Cannot boot Catalina Installer with OpenCore or Clover UEFI on an HP Elitebook 840 G6! Please help?

Hey everyone, I'm at a loss. I cannot seem to start the installer for MacOS Catalina. I have tried Open Core and Clover. I have tried using the guide from the boot with Open Core using the recovery method and downloading the full version. I have also tried using the Clover guide. I will attach...

Almost fully functional Acer Nitro 5!

The fact that you have to ask that question suggests that you are not reading the Clover guide. I cannot just give you my EFI folder because it is configured for my specific Acer Nitro 5. Even if they are the same brand and model name, there are differences that will throw your machine off. Like...

Almost fully functional Acer Nitro 5!

The description includes the GTX 1050 Ti because it is included in my system, however I have to disable it completely because it is not compatible in macOS with the Intel HD630 GPU in the same machine. (nVidia Optimus). In Windows, the GTX 1050 Ti works beautifully. In macOS, I am forced to only...

Almost fully functional Acer Nitro 5!

Please read the VooDooI2C guide. Just adding the kexts will not make it work without the proper DSDT edits. It should be in the laptop FAQ's.

Almost fully functional Acer Nitro 5!

Please see post #81 above. Even if we have the same model laptop, there are differences between my your laptop and mine. It is not hard at all to patch the Intel UHD 630 and disable your GTX 1060. There are guides to do it for your specific configuration. I cannot just give you my EFI because it...

Almost fully functional Acer Nitro 5!

One thing to make sure is to have Secure Boot disabled. The system may not let you change those settings if you don't have an administrator and or system password. You may need to create one and disable it. Then you can remove the passwords. If you follow the settings in the Clover laptop guide...

Almost fully functional Acer Nitro 5!

Well, it looks like that fixed the issue. I was able to get the SSDT-AppleALC.aml into the ACPI/Patched folder and tested it. So far so good. It would be nice for CodecCommander to auto detect it but there is no rush on that. It works fine as is and I'm sure you are busy with other things and...

Almost fully functional Acer Nitro 5!

I'm sorry to be a bother, but is there a reason why the system would drop audio after waking up from sleep? It works fine when I use my USB headphones or Apple AirPlay, but the internal speakers and microphone go out after waking from sleep. I have the latest version of AppleALC and...

    VoodooI2C Help and Support

Thank you for that, I had another thread in the Mojave support for other issues I had and RehabMan pointed out that I had an outdated VoodooPS2 kext. Updating that solved the issue!

Almost fully functional Acer Nitro 5!

Thank you for pointing that out! Because it looks like there is an updated version of VoodooPS2. So I went ahead and updated the kext, then rebuilt cache...and upon a shutdown then power on it KP'ed in booting up. When it auto restarted, the keyboard worked. I then went to turn the machine off...

Almost fully functional Acer Nitro 5!

Thank you for your help. It looks like I was able to fix the KP issue for now by updating to the newest VoodooI2C (2.1.4) and restart the machine a few times. What I find weird though is that after I manually shut down the system and turn it on via Shutdown ---> Power on, when the system comes...

    VoodooI2C Help and Support

Hey everyone, I am in need of some help. I am running macOS Mojave 10.14 (Non Beta) and using VoodooI2C 2.1.1/VoodooI2C-HID. The touchpad on my Acer Nitro 5 seems to be working by touch and only the left click. My issue is, when I shut the machine down, and turn it back on....the machine KP's...
