Both my hackintoshes are extremely reliable. I use one of them as my daily computer and it has never let me down. My hacks have given me less grief than my MacBook pro. Lots of good guides, and lots of helpful people on these forums.
if the drives on the Intel ports are data drives and not OS drives then just switch the data drives to the Marvel ports and put the OS on an Intel port. If you need more SATA ports get a 2 port or 4port PCIe card for $25.00 and switch the data drives or the optical drives over to that.
I think the recommended Tonymac installation method suggests that the SSD containing the OS should always be installed on an Intel port for better operation. That's what I have always done. Put the data drives on Marvel ports.
I have used both Plex and PS3 Media Server on my Hackintosh to stream to a PS3 and a Sony BDPS5100 connected to different TVs. Both programs work fine for streaming. Plex seems to do a better job of playing MKV files.

There is no reason why you can't back up Win 7 to an internal SATA drive. Personally I would want to keep the backups for Win 7 and OS X on different drives.
Not sure of "free" solutions to read and write between NTFS and HFS+. I use MacDrive to read and write to HFS+ drives when using Win...
Are you sure you are in the correct section of the BIOS.
You may need to go into the section of the BIOS that sets the order of the different hard drives on your computer and set the drive containing OS X as drive #1 and move the drive with Windows down to drive# 2. Then go into the section...
I agree with all the comments re the keyboard on the 17" MacBook Pro, both pro and con. The 17" always looked ungainly to me, so I ended up with a 15". Now that the rest of the family is using 13" MacBook Pros I find even the 15" too big.
I have never experienced a CCC backup refusing to boot as a result of an incremental backup, so I can't be of any help in that respect. Have never tried SD. I keep my OS on one drive and the data on another drive.
I have come to the conclusion that using both TM and CCC is the best solution...
