Ok, thanks anyway.
I also thought about putting the dual slot gpu's in 3/4 en 5/6 but then 3/4 is starved for air completely so not an option. Will stick with this for now, as system is on almost 24/7 so after everything is started and restarted a few times , i have all my TB devices active and...
Indeed on opencore. I can live with a extra warm boot if after that i have hotplug with the card NOT in slot 2 (as 1,2,5,6 are blocked by dual slot gpus and an air gap in between to not have one of them starved for air)
In what slot do you have it ? in 3 or 4 ? Can you get me your ssdt for that...
Hi Guys,
Did you manage to figure this out ?
Similar setup but single card interest only. Dual slot gpu's in 1 and 5 of SAGE 10G motherboard. Titan Ridge (flashed) in 3.
Zero hotplug and even issues with chaining multiple devices (maybe the device types).
So now run 1 Pegasus in TB connection 1...
PS FYI to confirm
The X540-T2 dual 10GB card works also flawless inside the OWC HELIOS 3 TB3 enclosure > TB3 to TB2 adapter > Hackintosh Sierra TB2 (on motherboard) + SmallTree Drivers. No diff from direct attached regarding driver compatibility.
You do need to do 2 things to get the i350-T4 to work.
My winning combo was
1. find (unique per card) and flash (super simpel to do ) subsystem ID to 0a00 so it is recognised by the driver (fixes messages about invalid vendor-id)
2. hex patch the driver with the clover patching (fixed message...
Just to confirm . I got my X540-T2 in and only flashed the subsystem id. No patched kext needed , smalltree works straight out of the box there. So guess it is specific to the 1GB kext.
Used the same offsets to flash although te actual original card values for the subsystem id where different...
p.s. The clover patch method for the SmallTreeIntel82576 , also works for the current downloadable versions for Sierra which atm is 1.0.14. (which i accidentaly installed under a high sierra install and it works there as well) Its just an other string to replace. So just by eyeballing i found ...
Wow, great stuff iodine.
Question: Is this kext patching also needed for the 10Gb driver SmallTreeIntel8259x.kext?
I am expecting my X540-T2's in the mail anytime. Or does this invalid eprom crap only affect the 1Gb driver from SmallTree.
If you have the patch string or a working kext (Sierra...
Yeah man, just keep tweaking ;-) Thats part of the fun.
I guess it will all depend on the card , application you are targeting , technology it is using .
I think i am lucky that my card already performs great without requiring lots of extra power/volts to get there.
Part of the problem is that...
Maybea bit hard to follow but looking at both Ainths and mine findings it seems to work fine on mac as well, its just the tools to read the correct frequencies are bust. Thats makes analysing/troubleshooting complex at least. But as you can see while i was using luxmark i was able to see the...
STOP THE PRESS !!! NEWSFLASH !!!
In my previous post i made the right analyses but the wrong conclusion. I mentioned the fixed rate could only have 2 causes,
1- A number i had set
2- A hard cap
It was 1 in combination with HW monitor not showing number higher then 1240 aparantly.
I re-ran...
I have become more and more convinced, overthinking my experiences that it is a hardcoded limit in the driver.
Power and or volt limited behavior i saw in windows during mymax OC search and hard benchmarking showed fluctuating numbers , not solid number not moving unless it was the set cieling...
Here my stock and final OSX OC version.
The parameter in Windows Nvidia driver i talked about :
SET_POWER_THROTTLE_FOR_PCIE_COMPLIANCE
- 0 OFF (Default setting )
- 1 ON (dropped my freq to ~1270 untill i added 0.020 v which got it back up .)
- 2 OCCT (not tested)
- 4 MSI COMBUSTER (not tested)...
Hey may, yeah a realy short reply. I am am bit upset you did not the time to give me a bit longer reply. Hahahahaha.
You are like me. I talk to much my wife say.
Wil post my bios this afternoon, but to give you my short version.
Funny thing is i spend 48h straight in doing exactly all the crazy...
