    the end of Hackintosh?

If everyone ends up on arm we could be ok. https://www.pcgamer.com/former-mac-boss-predicts-pc-makers-will-have-to-dump-amd-and-intel-to-go-arm/

    Corsair Utility Engine (CUE)

That does look great but I'm looking for something more subtle. Single colour across the board and RAM, 2 other colours for fans. I got the LSB02E Silverstone controller but I must have a dud unit as it just lights everything white, now awaiting a replacement. The skill will never retain...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Any recommended alternatives to the aptio fix or can it just be removed once apple features are all up and running. Am in fear of bricking things

After a mind numbing sequence of reboots, clearing Corsair registry entries, etc. and re-installing til I was totally over RGB, I realised that my SM-Bus driver wasn't displaying. After a whizz through the MB DVD, I managed to get iCue stable enough in the non software mode, instant colour, that...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

More questions... I have dual boot with windows in 1st M.2, OSX in 2nd. I discovered that when I run parallels, boot camp opens my existing windows drive. This is awesome but I thought it wasn't supposed to be possible. I thought Bootcamp only worked with partitions it had created, rather than...

Hi Casey Thanks for the guide, this is easily the best repository for information on the board out there. I actually went vanilla but however many folks moan about the beasts they're ALL coming here to hack their Designares. I wanted to confirm compatibility for the Fireface 400 over in-line...

    Corsair Utility Engine (CUE)

Sorry, I missed this reply. I ended up building on a Designare Z390, as per Casey's Golden Build. I used all the same SSDT's etc but built it Vanilla. I went for Corsair Vengeance RAM after finding out that it does store defaults unlike the gskill tridentz. Problem is I can't even address them...

Thanks for the info. I think there are boards that would let me breathe easier but X series is an issue for me with some of the 32bit software I still need to run. On balance I think I'm probably just being overcautious

Thanks Casey, so the M2's don't share bandwidth with the x1 slots?

But then we'd find windows writing files on the osx partition, unless you put win first, and install it first. That is my understanding at least. Interestingly I am also using a fireface, this is why I picked the designare z390 with integrated Bluetooth 3. I also have a motu PCIe424 and one...

Also wondering if having 2 M.2 drives results in a decrease of bandwidth for each drive regardless of whether the other is in use. If so, I think I'd need to find a way of disabling in BIOS

M2 drives, PCI lanes and SATA ports. Hi there. So, I am planning a dual boot Hack along the lines of this build and had a question about M2 drives. I've been delving through the gigabyte forums but everyone seems to have a different opinion. If I run Win in the top M2 and OSX in the bottom...

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Thanks for getting back so quick, kinda what I wanted to hear given I'm almost there with parts. I think it'll be some time before I can transition fully to 64bit.
