The everything works Asus Z390-I Gaming * i7-8700K * SAPPHIRE NITRO+ Radeon RX Vega 64 Build

Anyone lose USB functionality after updating to 10.14.6? I've tried several patches but none have worked. While the SSDT works, speeds are severely crippled.

Do you have the iGPU enabled? If so, try disabling it in the BIOS and see if Final Cut doesn't crash. If it works, you just need to fix your implementation of the IGPU - either keep it disabled or (if you want QuickSync) enable it in headless mode.

There is definitely an improvement in the signal strength. This not only meant better range and speeds but also more networks detected in general (even ones outside my house). AC WiFi speeds in particular are also noticeably faster because of the improved reception. Do bear in mind that I use a...

I pulled the trigger and went with the BCM94360CS2 and no heatsink. So far, no issues. I have not installed any replacement heatsinks to date and have noticed no issues, which does support the theory that the heatsink is mostly for gaming aesthetics. The BCM94360CS2 runs circles around the...

That was partly why I ended going with the Streacom - I love the looks and the potential for 280mm water cooling. I'll definitely be fiddling with the internals to achieve better temps. It's no wonder though that you get much better temps - that's an impressive array of fans. I've a 92mm rear...

Thanks a lot. This is really helpful. I'm actually not having any issues at all, except for auto unlock with Apple Watch not working reliably (worked once so far). Other than that, AirDrop, Handoff, and Continuity are running great. I'm going to try making it work for now, but will definitely...

Wonderful. May I ask what heatsinks you've used in your case? Any issues with fitting?

The short answer is yes. The RX 560, 570, 580 and the Vega 56 & 64 are pretty much plug and play. Avoid XFX cards and stick to those used in golden builds and successful guides. You will most likely need Whatevergreen.kext to address some minor inconvenience that vary from one card to another...

Anyone facing issues with auto unlock with Apple Watch using the DW1560? In my case, it's fully enabled and during wake it says "unlocking with Apple Watch," but it gets stuck there and reverts to password login eventually. I've tried rebooting the watch and iPhone, but that didn't help...

Thanks for a truly awesome guide. I just finalized a a build that was inspired by this guide and the insights in the post were truly helpful, particularly the guide for replacing the WiFi/BT chip. I'm using a Core i9 9900K with an NZXT Kraken x52 and a blower style Vega 56 GPU, all of which fit...

Apple Unveils Redesigned Mac Pro Desktop and Pro Display XDR at WWDC

When specs are taken into consideration, the monitor is actually reasonably priced. It's a stunning feat of engineering. Unfortunately, I cannot fathom why the stand is $999. I'm sure plenty of thought went into the design to make the monitor feel weightless, but the price does feel excessive...

Apple Unveils Redesigned Mac Pro Desktop and Pro Display XDR at WWDC

I had high hopes for the Mac Pro, and while it's no doubt a beast of a machine, it still missed the mark IMO. What Apple's lineup lacks is a prosumer-grade Mac that is not an all-in-one and comes with a decent graphics card. Perhaps a larger Mac mini that can accommodate (and effectively cool)...

<< Solved >> After 10.14.4 Update, Apple Watch Stopped Unlocking Mac

I had a similar issue, though not related to the update. In System Preferences > Energy Saver, do you have "wake for network access" enabled? If so, try disabling and see if that solves it. Some other things to try would be to reboot your iPhone and Apple Watch, then uncheck and re-check the...
