I apologize if this is a duplicate, but a search of the site did not shed any light on the matter.
I am still using Sierra in my Probook, but a recent upgrade broke something. Now the screen dims to black right after the apple logo and can't get the screen to brighten up even after booting...
Hello, Rehabman. Is your repository up-to-date? I installed Sierra from scratch in a Probook 640 G1 (Haswell) and had issues with power management (no battery/plug detection) and screen graphics. I did it a couple of times to make sure I was not screwing things up. All problems disappeared when...
My laptop was running 10.11.6 without a glitch for many months, but after 2 weeks of down time it has developed a really strange issue. The computer boots to clover, clover starts loading OS X, and then the screen fades and goes blank, and never comes back. Right now, I can only boot in safe...
Let me see if I am doing this right.
1. Clover config: remove all patches, check.
2. Copy Going Bald's DSDT file to EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched, check.
I did not remove the files from EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/origin. Should I?
I did some more extensive trials with the edited DSDT. The sleep/shutdown issues continue, albeit with different features. The computer will sleep w/o crashing but will not wake up. Shutting down the machine after sleep using the power button works and no longer resets the CMOS. Shut down from...
I had some free time today and did a quick test. The computer sleeps but does not wake up and requires a reboot. However, with the new DSDT sleep no longer resets the CMOS. Sound works fine but I have not replaced voodooHDA. I will give it a shot sometime later.
I already tried the various versions of the toleda method unsucessfully. The system works fine as it is now; it even gives me nice HDMI audio output. I will probably try it as an exercise, but I'm not sure it will be an improvement.
Yes, I have extracted the DSDT.aml, but I'm not sure how to fix the issues. I've spent quite a few hours reading about this, and there are no recommendations on the CMOS reset issue. I have been able to get sound working somewhat using some patches -it now sports HDMI sound. No luck with...
It was installed barebones, i.e.: one HDD, and only the Radeon graphics card (which is recognized automatically by older OS X versions; I don't know about 10.11). The BIOS was flashed to FH using Windows and @BIOS. Anyways, this is kinda moot, since the OS installed OK and is capable of booting...
I did start from scratch.
I did start from scratch, and I said earlier what wasn't working: 1) sleep (rig freezes and resets BIOS); and 2) sound (no output devices available).
