Actually scratch that, it rebooted once fine, then I went and tried to install instant menu, and after trying to reboot it again, I got kernel panic, but I don't see why instant menu would do that. I had to pull out my iboot disk.

Nvm, I deleted my old com.apple.Boot.plist and installed the 64-bit one from multibeast and it seems to be running fine.

I've had my hackintosh for a while now, about half a year, and recently noticed that in my system profiler, next to where it says "64-bit kernel and extensions" it says no. Is there any reason I would want to use the 64-bit kernel? Will it affect system performance?

Does this not work with Ubuntu? I tried the exact method Going Bald had using Ubuntu instead of Windows 7, but it doesn't show up on the chimera screen. I don't see why it wouldn't work as Ubuntu boots up just fine in ACHI mode.

For some reason my system didn't like my analog mic. Bought a usb one and it works fine. if you go buy a usb mic, make sure you go into your system preferences and select usb as in input/output.

I got everything working except for the mic. My computer reads that it is there, it just does not function. I'm using GA-H67M-D2-B3, it has ALC889. Anyone had luck with this specific mobo getting their microphone to work?

I made sure that I removed the right kexts, and the patched HDA you linked still does not work, in fact is just killed my audio again.
